"Tico Belle was one of the many C-47s that flew in paratroop missions in the early hours of the D-day and another two missions launching gliders, also taking part of the Operation Market Garden, Operation Varsity and Battle of the Bulge and one of the few that survived not only well into the 21st century, but also is kept in flying condition and is actually still used for parachute trainings

After the war, she served in the Danish air force as VIP transport, including transporting the Danish royal family in official trips. Today she is kept in perfect condition by the Valliant Air Command in Florida in the war time livery, having flown across the ocean many times to join the commemorations in Normandy."
