Wild, wet and windy.

Postby emfrat » Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:37 pm

If anyone has a good real weather add-on in their sim, could they please take some screenies of our current disturbance offshore? First one this far south in 50 years, and being 1949 vintage, I doubt if I'll be around for the next one

Take care Mike, make sure the home brew next door is secure.
My 2 nephews flew over to Brisbane last Sunday with 2 of their mates for some spotting and a concert....bad timing.
They a due to fly out on Saturday, but are prepared for a worst case scenario.

Stay in touch mate

It has slipped about 72hrs already - all public transport stopped, airports closed. Probly looking at Tuesday for the boys to fly out.

This latest advice looks promising. Forest Hill is halfway between Ipswich and Toowoomba. We can expect some heavy rain, as the eye tracks to the north of this thriving metropolis of 470 inhabitants.

Hello Charl...
I did get a notification about that, when I first fired the site up....
...but everything seems to be working OK now...>>> https://earth.nullschool.net/

I rely heavily on that program as I follow the news regarding weather conditions worldwide!
Weather stuff always fascinates me....

This is it in AFS4, at the long grey shed just below the compass. Looks OK from 1250', and the photo is landable, but very low-res at ground level :(

A much nicer day in the sim than the real world

Starting to look a bit damp around the place :D

Actually it's only shin-deep in my yard, looks worse than it is. It will probly get to knee-deep. Top centre you can see Tony-next-door's white ute, beside my Forester and Barina, across in the old rail yard.
