Good to hear Adam, and congrats on the new card purchase.

Like a few others here am teetering on the point of ordering a new system, and pondering v4 vs v5 vs waiting for MS2020. After reading this thread I may grab v5 in the interim.

For my new build am going AMD for GPU and CPU (no haters please :) as want to use the machine as a hackintosh also and they play more nicely with the AMD GPUs (and yes MacOS will run on a Ryzen CPU now). Am looking at the RX 5700 XT which is similar to your 2060s performance wise but am wondering how it will go with P3D as it sounds like it still performs better by taking advantage of Nvidia/GSync and the like.... tough decisions aye.

I now understand why the reaction to v5 is so split. It really seems that older cards (especially with less VRAM) just don't seem to display the sim properly at all - even when persuaded to run without crashing. Newer cards are able to show the new DX12 GFX rendering functions well - and those people are full of praise. Sadly, I'm not sure that there's an "in-between" ... you really are forced into an expensive upgrade if you want to run P3Dv5 at all well. Adam.

Yes I'm in this category as well. I was hoping my GTX Titan GPU would have got me through on V5 at least until MS2020 came out and to see how well it would go with that.
My Titan has the Keplar core and even though it's DX12 capable it only has the 11.2 feature set and not 12 and above that's needed. I wonder if this possibly has something to do with some users having poor performance as well.
So it looks like to stay in the game (no pun intended) I'm looking at everything CPU, Mobo, RAM and GPU. I might as well get an M2 drive as well.
Do we still have the hassle with Windows (validation) when rebuilding a new system (using W10)?
