P3Dv4 and PTA 2.51

I did the P3Dv4 upgrade dance - and am mightily pleased. Here are a couple of shots using my latest PTA preset (more to follow!):

The preset is here.

Keep 'em coming, Adam. My v4 is still looking plain-vanilla, but PTA is a priority, looking at your shots.
There's a more natural, realistic look to v4, even without any help, but PTA is the icing on the cake!

I must admit the overall "look and feel" of P3Dv4 is way better. PTA certainly helps - but I'm waiting for either FEX to be updated or REX Skyfarce 3D to come out so I can get rid of the "blobby" clouds.

It's great to see many of my favourite aircraft getting v4 installers: A2A G/A aircraft, PBY Catalina, Winjeel. I can't wait for the A2A Connie - as well as any of the older WOP2 and WOP3 aircraft.

Of course - the PMDG 737 would be nice (I can't afford the 747 yet!).

Looks great. The terrain lighting looks to be much improved, especially with PTA.

CP -- much appreciated:) Didn't know you could do that via TXT, you learn something new every day...

Bugger - I just typed a really long explanation, then Firefox crashed on me :(.

Here's a short version:

and

It's for P3D only, BTW!

Finally got this installed, and yeah, the purchase process is a little counter-intuitive... an old grumpy guy like me would be tempted to give up, but I persevered!
This time I started with Adam's settings, and I'm tweaking to taste. Nice to start to see Prepar3d v4 looking at its best. Now all I need is something to fly -- like some updates of my few little favourites. Looks like the first might be the Alabeo agtruck:)

Thanks for that, this grumpy guy had already given up but in light of your comments I went in again, 'over the top and running towards the foe', this time thanks to your encouragement I was successful and now am flying over Wellington with some nice have and distance effects. It looks so much better!

here are a couple more PTA shots:

Since waiting for REX to do their P3Dv4 hotfixes is like watching paint dry, I took the plunge and re-pointed my existing REX/TD and FEX to the new P3Dv4 directory. All is OK (if you steer clear of the water stuff, as LM changed a lot there). So ... a revised PTA preset will be on its way soon.
