Which joystick to use?

Postby kiwicomm » Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:12 pm

I use a Saitek Cyborg Fly5 joystick. My son in law was looking at it and thought that MadKatz had gone out of business and maybe this joystick would no longer be available. Anybody got any goss on this? I'm on my second Fly 5. The first gave good service for quite a while and I like the dual throttles, and the price. Any other suggestions if I want to replace it as some point?

If I was going the Joystick way , the very minimum I would even go would be this https://www.flightsimshop.co.nz/product ... d-throttle NZ supply and price, with that also I'd go rudder pedals extra , I consider that a must!

I'm still enjoying my trusty Saitek Cyborg Fly 5 Joystick*.
(Mine cost me £49 new)

The best of all the many Joysticks I've had so far.....
..... (Except for the original Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick...The King of Joysticks!)
https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Sidewi ... B00000JDFT
Still got mine...with faulty electronics.... :( ...!

Shame Madkatz/Saitek are no longer making the Fly 5!
...maybe a few left on Amazon?

My Flight Yoke and Rudder Pedals I don't use. Far too much clutter, and unnecessary for my simple, fly-around, scenery exploration!

Paul... :D ...!

* I needed to strap a couple of Tie-Wraps around the centre-return spring to ease the tension...it is much too strong otherwise!

I had three Microsoft sticks over the years, but now I have the X52 pro, which is black with more metal parts. Its a really good stick.

I still recall those F-16 Combat sticks out and about in the mid 1990s , it really did look a goodie, no throttle from memory nor rudder pedals easy to get. ... today tho the above .. superb.
