Jeez Jasper :o , you left the primary's behind! CRIKEY ! Ya 'joystick, throttle and rudder', ya leave your wife or girlfriend behind but those three items get the pillow and seat belt material !

I could only fit so much in my suitcase. I actually moved my stuff over several trips and didn't have to move any furniture. Just my PC... The case and other hardware fit in my suitcase and a separate wooden suitcase was constructed for the monitor. Already a pretty serious operation :D . The controls will come on a next trip whenever I have some time, until then an Xbox One controller will have to suffice.

That is a very lame excuse ... I got this plan and if they decided to plop me back in hospital again .. a suit case capable of carrying my laptop , joystick nav maps and a few movies .. forget everything else .. the primary's first. B-)

Hi Adrian good to see your still around. Yep I noticed the decline or lack of interest, not sure if it is but everyone is probably busy doing other stuff. Like my goodself, dealing with drought on the farm, now floods and in between two separate but catastrophic hardware failures on the PC, so I am slowly doing rebuild number 3 of FSX but smarter and wiser.

On another point the JBK Sunderland Q for Queenie, I can upload it to Google drive now (I think) so you can have a play and tweak and finally we may be able to get it posted. PM me but as I live off-grid and generally off line for long patches I may not respond immediately.

In the meantime I actually have been working on the Solent, Sandringham and JBK DC-4 but alas lost all the NZ and Pacific flying boat base scenery I had done so will now have to start the slow painstaking process of redoing them all.

Bendy, I have the ear of a FSX aircraft builder, It still would be a payware but would be a goodie , I have put in a request for a good Sunderland and Solent/Sandringham , thing is if you mention one time to him out comes every variant and beaching gear and extra bells and whistles.

Ian that would be the go - to start with the Sunderland or the Sandringham or the Solent, any one would be great. The aircraft all shared the same hull and wing only thing that changed really was the engine fit and the cockpit layouts, oh and the windows off course. I have redone the Solent and Sandringham for myself but the difficulty is that there is no interior model and while I still think JBK was just an amazing model builder for sims there are real limits for port overs and they are especially a problem when you try to tidy up the VC, the texture mapping is just downright weird. The aircraft really needs a good interior. The flight decks were pretty simple actually as was the instrumentation no compound curves on the panels etc. As you would expect for an aircraft designed in the 30's and merely modified and updated later in the 40's and 50's. I am happy with what I have at the moment but you know how it is. Payware would be fine by me, I have no problems shelling out the dollars for quality.

Bendy , I've stuck it in the Breeze, one thing for a start is the lack of any real/complex animation , and with this guy... sorta a little like yourself and me ..No holes barred .. straight into it with every variant .. and I mean every , I was so disappointed with the FCS Sun .. sun .. crap flying boat No wonder " Where has everybody gone ?" ... It was a Shite , keep away from this guy .. He really is PISSED OFF ! :D

how many TG's do follow in your footsteps .. or are they closet simulator pilots

Ian, my middle son is the one following me, He has his multi -IFR, CPL, C-Cat instructors and all his ATPLs done and is now working at Ardmore Flying School and also does shifts over at Unicom at NZAR, so he's "sort of" on the first step - he just needs to start getting hours in the log book now.

As for me - I turned 54 yesterday and my present is 'Authorisation' to down load Prepared and load it onto my new computer. Yay, another small step. :D
Now I can look forward to getting back into the simming and banging my head in frustration ( sorry - enjoyment) as I try to get everything loaded and talking to each other again.

cheers

Nice !!! Back in the Virtual saddle :)

After a few months on the trot not of NO SIMMING at all I've just got the itch back too, splashed out yesterday on some discounted scenery from LatinVFR (Caracas/SVMI & Orange County/KSNA) and Tropical Sim (Kansas/KMCI) and bought a copy of the Milviz MD530 ... P3D Sunday coming up for me too :)

We'll see I guess :) to be honest it was a sort of "collecting" purchase as I wanted a machine w the new body shape so I could do some repaints in something resembling a 500E. I've got pretty much all of the Nemeth machines, some are good, some of the older ones (to be fair) less so.

I check in and out a bit, unfortunately my poor old FS PC has just about died so she doesn't run any FS very well any more, and life in general got in the way (plus i got disheartened entering the screen comps as the same people always win them)

Hayden, That dose rip ya shorts when the PC just simply will not do the job ... Trust me I'm head scratching what is going to be my next ... I do need a new weapon system .. again and added.
Kiwia1spad wrote:(plus i got disheartened entering the screen comps as the same people always win them)

I don't worry there, ... there are a few off us dedicated NZFF members who pass the prize on, .. I'm into art, I look at the other triers , I don't aim for the ones with fancy machines (YUPPY WORD RIGS) ..... I look at the ones who have tried to create a great screen and if I like and few others here would seriously agree, they win the monthly prize, ..... I think its a nice way to generate interest ... as you said "the same people always win them" , ..... I always get in the Shite with admin due to peoples loosing interest .. Least I can say I have a history here :)
