P3D v2.5 || Carenado Beechcraft 1900D Air New Zealand || NZWB-NZWS ||

Hi all,

After a couple of months out of the sim scene I finally had a couple of hours to sit down and have a decent crack at the 1900D by Carenado. I am still very new to this aircraft so I simply followed a nice GPS route overhead NS and down to WS.

The aircraft it's has really grown on me and it is beautifully modelled (as most Carenado's are!). I do find sometimes when I am zoomed right out in the VC view that the switches and dials etc start to get a bit "jump" and pixelated. It's almost as they are such a high definition that causes the issues.

Anyway, the flight was pretty straightforward other than when I was on short final at Westport I realised I had a 15 knot tailwind; so I executed a go-around as I wasn't stable and proceeded to re-circuit for the opposite vector, and ended up landing safely.

Enjoy the shots!

You may want to search for the West Coast towns at Flightsim.com Scotty , you are able to track all the way the West Coast in photo real scenery without any frame rate issues.

Very nice. Great to see some local shots.

I've been looking closely at the Carenado 1900D for a wee while now, as something bigger than my single engine GA lineup but not in the tube-liner space that I don't really feel ready for. I've not bought it yet for a couple of reasons. Air NZ is retiring them soon which would eliminate the whole "this is what they fly" feeling, in which case maybe I should be looking at the ATR or Majestic options. The second reason is that I've got plenty of learning to do with the single engine stuff, and have the Turbine Duke V2 ready to go when I want a twin.

Actually there's a third reason - I've just splashed out on the new A2A Comanche which is amazing to fly and needs more flying.
