Repaint Requests

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Just found this official request thread... smile.gif I would very much like to have some RNZAF repaints of Jordan More's Bell UH-1 Iroquois AI model. The model can be found here at the Hovercontrol website. There is a Paint kit available as well. Also here a list of serials.

A thought , our own Deane Baunton has a great UH-1 , sure it works in FSX least it did pre SPs and would suit your AI packages , a little attention to add some photo detail to and serials it would work a treat , be an ideal task for a budding newbie painter smile.gif

That sounds promising, Ian. Is it a true multi-loded AI model? Would it be the one included in the RNZAF Redux 1 package?
Cheers,
Martin

Deane would be able to give you the stats on that - but i'd be sure it will have any affect on the frames at all .

Yes I might just give it a try. Finding time at the moment will be a challenge. The house is being renovated while we are still living in it! Got no laundry or bathroom and a toilet that you flush with buckets sad.gif Only a few more weeks to go <sigh>

I hope this paintkit is easy to use. Never done this before.

Thanks Ian,

Paul

I don't supose anyone would be keen to do an Aermacchi MB339-CB skin for the Lotus L-39 by any chance...please?

I worked on these for 5 years back in the day - got up for several rides which was pretty cool.

I did see a repaint for the L39 that's flown at airshows around NZ. The nice blue camouflage one. I'll pop in a link if I can find it again.

EDIT: Here it is.

I am not sure why you would think that at all?? I spent a long time working on these, flying in them and building them from bits in a box after they have come back from Italy following a belly-landing..oops, and have no problems painting up the L-39 in the same colours whatsoever. I mean come on - the Albatross is essentially the forefather to the 339...which followed it's design VERY closely! Excert from the L-39 manual....

From a design and engineering standpoint the L-39C was the first single engine jet trainer
to 'get it all right' and its design features were heavily imitated in later jet trainers from
other manufacturers, such as the British Aerospace Hawk and Aermacchi MB-339.

Thanks Tom for the heads-up about the blue one - have grabbed that one already as have been down to Ardmore and checked it out in person - nice aircraft. Still keen for a 14SQN skin, they were some good times... winkyy.gif

In the trainer real world and ability , Its the other way around and funny enough both come from 50's generation .. the Mac's always had the extra thrust were as the Aero's when and reduced the power .. no compare to the final variants and the Hawk is in a class off its self compare to both latter's.

I for one would also like to see the L39 in RNZAF Macchi colours. There are a couple of other NZ schemes fir L39s floating around including a metallic blue one that lives in Nelson.

Just read today another L39 has arrived in the country and is living in Tauranga but is bare metal at this stage won't US reg.
