One thing i have noticed is JustFlight have packaged the 10 to 40 series , T.E.A.L /Air New Zealand operated the 50 series , course there are many mod's and variants , This "Real Mans" aircraft really survived into days gone past passenger carry and into cargo and many of the Military funky machines , i'm guessing this one is going to be One super sweet model . cool.gif

Marty you are yet another victim of the new CS marketing plan. Release unfinished and buggy products with a promise to update yet with no clear timeline (if indeed there ever was any). I quite like the older CS products but I just don't buy into this public ALPHA testing rubbish.

Arrrr I did enjoy testing the true "Classic" ... Dino's not here is he unsure.gif .. the Boeing 737 100/200 series and watch it grow , and da course used it as my first Jet flight into Queenie ville.... not sure how yud go with a DC-8 on that shorter runway .

ahhh one of my favourites.
I was very fortunate as a kid to sit on the jumpseat PPG-AKL one night thanks to Captain Bill Willis and will always remember the last scheduled Air NZ DC8 flight RAR-AKL which departed off 08 and turned left over the terminal.

Yeah a great aircraft. I worked on them a bit when I was on the line at NZCH. The fuel system was a bit of a night mare at first...lots of knobs,levers and dials.
We had a COPCO airstart unit which had a massive yankee V8 in it to turn the air compressor for engine starts. We overhauled and modded it so it churned out some real horsepower and sounded awesome.
It sounded so cool from the flight deck during an engine start as did the 8 too when it started. The JT-3 engine had a distinctive whoosh sound when the air reached the starter.

I don't remember winkyy.gif as at times both a DC-8 and a QANTAS V-jet were end on end , back then parked side on to the gates CHCH was gates 9 and 10 for the Internationals .. then the Airworks hanger used by Mount Cook airlines DC-3s ... course around hanger 2 the side off gate No.1 the old S.A.F.E air Bristol chugged in .

Can't wait - modern airliners aren't my thing, but I do have a definite soft spot for propliners and the the first couple of generations of jets. I've always preferred the look of the DC-8 to the 707 although the 707 does have a special place in my heart as I had the chance to fly on one long after most had been retired from passenger service.

Sadly CP , i agree ..... sad.gif Its not the same climbing into the left seat of a Tristar , and theres a side stick and a throttle missing .... oh well , the outside looks good dry.gif

I do indeed Ian , Ive got their ( C.S)stuff from way back to the Yak (and love it), I hope they come up with the goods soon .... but as CP said , its a bit rude to release a half baked product , just for the sake of releasing something.

OK for us guys who wanta be test pilots , after all as you said , your not a button pusher engine type person and only a screenie outside looksie type so gives ya something to look forward to on there updates .

True again Mr W , but it would be nice to shoot a screen from Tristar pit ..... that cost a few bucks . I really think they will have to come up something pretty damm good before they get any more of my hard earned.
