WoAI Complete Package

Hi there,

I am doing a fresh re-install of all AI traffic for my FSX setup. I have always used WoAI, and the fact that so far it has been great for frame rates etc, I am wanting to stick with it rather than moving to a new AI provider. I want worldwide coverage, and a while back I found one big file that included all of the WoAI packages in one, rather than having to download hundreds of separate packs off Avsim or the like.

Does anyone know where I can find this file?

Yes one should... there is a package containing a WOAI compilation on some pirate sites.
It is just that: pirated.
WOAI contributors specifically prohibit their work being distributed elsewhere.
I like to respect that requirement, they put in a lot of their time for us, it's the least we can do.
Not respecting the wishes of freeware authors is like saying #### you.
Hardly a praiseworthy way of expressing your gratitude...

Hmmm, can't say that is where I got it from - I got it through a direct downloand link off some American virtual airline site. I wonder if it is still Pirated if it is freeware material anyway? Not saying it is fine - I am totally against that stuff; but just curious

Scotty does that include the AI models or do those need to be downloaded separately? If so how do you know which models and liveries to download and from where? Worldwide coverage could make that task difficult and very time consuming.

Here's an extract from the WOAI Forum FAQ:

Q: What is this software all about?
A: World of AI offers you packages that enhance the AI traffic in both FS9 and FSX

Q: Do I have to pay something?
A: Our packages are freeware.

Q: Do you model and paint aircraft and do flightplans?
A: All components come from different authors. We only pack those components together into an AI Package

Q: Can I upload your work to file sharing servers?
A: No. The agreement with our supporters is to upload to avsim and flightsim only

Q: Can I download a file that includes all packages ever released by WoA?
A: You have to download each package one by one

Q: Do I have to install the packages one by one?
A: You can install them in one go. Just select all the packages you what to install.

No matter where you get such a "compilation", it goes against the express wishes of the authors and publisher of WOAI.
There are those that see these requirements as "anal" and go ahead and download the stuff anyway.
But ultimately this drives away the freeware authors, as they see their efforts being abused.

It's actually smarter to select the WOAI packages you actually want, and run them through the WOAI installer.
That way you don't get GB's of stuff you don't want in your sim.
That would include any amount of malware that often hides inside huge executable files that "you found on the internet".
