Hey Tony. Tried the mission tonight, I do have Mike's Hamilton and Taupo installed and when I get to "Tonys place" I do see a Blue tanker and a red jeep, but when I fly down to the spraying location there doesn't seem to be any guide vehicles, I spray the entire field then down to Optotoki and mission is incomplete? Any ideas?

Aha, got it sussed, I didn't realise I had to have the "Tonys Place" scenery installed as well as the mission itself. Added that, as per Tonys instructions, who reads those right? :-) and bob's your aunty, there's the guide cars etc.
Was a fun mission, I think the toughest part of all was trying to find the darned Opotoki airstrip at the end, see if you can spot it in this pic I took tonight?

Hey Deeknow,

Glad you got it sussed, a bit of fun innit ???

Can you imagine the excitement as an 8yr old, to have planes touching down outside
your bedroom window.

First year we had Tiger Moths ( hopper in fwd cockpit) then
C185s with the hopper in behind front seats.

Glad you enjoyed it

Cheers

Hey Trev. Sorry mate I missed the mention in Tony's original post that you had created the mission. Jolly good job, was a lot of fun.
Neat back-story and trickier than it seems. Having the cars as markers on the field was a good idea.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I originally come from a farm and it was a big deal as a young lad to watch the aerial spraying after school.
I started making these crop dusting missions when the first Alabeo AgTruck user pictures where being posted of spraying at 500ft. Clearly people had no idea of what crop dusting was all about.
So this is why I started this series of missions to provide an environment and basic instruction of spraying a field.
If people keep enjoying them I will try to keep making them.
Suggested places would be welcome as well.

Dont have FS installed at the moment but I ve tried some of the past missions. Keen to have another go eventually

Pity Alabeo don't make a topdressing Agtruck or Pawnee Brave instead of a sprayer.

I'm off a farm too and our neighbour (and many years before that on our farm) there was a strip. Topdressing Agwagons and Fletchers were a common sight. I was lucky to be in a Agwagon on topdressing run around the Taranaki hill country. Before my time, but on our strip we had Tiger Moths and Cessna 180s. Apparently a Tiger Moth got its tail wheel it tangled in a fence once at the end of our strip and flipped.

There could also be missions like spraying for mosquitos around swamps. Know of any in NZ?

Yes we do have areas , but left alone .. in Banks Peninsular , Lake Forsyth in by Little River 5/10 km east of Lake Ellesmere is renown for swams . .. small lake in a valley .. be an ideal spot .

Looks like an interesting spot. What are they doing at the mouth of the river? redirection works?

It could more for irrigation , very swamp low ground .. out this way is currently flooded and complaints about not digging relief channels could be anything .

Took a flight around this lake last night and its not suitable since it had steep cliffs at the waterline. Needs to be a shoreline which is very flat for low flying.

Try the Wairau lagoon at the mouth of the Wairau river just East of NZOM and NZWB it has been Helli sprayed for mosquitoes a few years ago but would be open for AG planes to spray there is even a topdressing strip just to the South of the lagoon if you can find it
