Something missing

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

After my DC-8 post in the screenshot place , i got too thinking ,there is something lacking in FSX.... and it is the lack of good quality “vintageâ€￾ jets. While the HJG Caravelle’s ,707′s andDC-8's are for fs2004, they function to some degree in FSX, but no support is available.

Hopefully with time, FSX will match FS2004 in addons..... well at least a good FSX DC-8 would be nice.

I think there is a DC-8 in development.

But other than that, I'm not sure what's going to be available in the vintage jet realm within FSX.
Apparently Dave Maltby's BAC 1-11 works well from what I've heard, and of course "my" Tu-154 first flew in the late '60s and was prevalent in the '70s.

Other than that, look towards Captain Sim for the 707 and older 737 models. I too would love to see a Caravelle appear in the future!

Dont think much of the Caravelle ...... it was a Comet with an odd rear end. 707's ...yes, awesome beasts , and still going. (screens later)

Regarding the Caravelle,

AlliedFSGroup (AFG) released one (non-vc) for FS9 a few years ago, but that's the only one that ever appeared I believe.
