I haven't flown in any other season in NZSI yet other than Autumn and Winter so Im looking forward to seeing summer (apart from a brief glimpse - Im flying in real time).

The percentage of colour-blind flightsimmers is almost double the national average. This is because most are males, and males are more likely to be colour-blind...

Nice with having an accident - especially the noggin, i got tested ... colour depth and perspective was perfect ...

Cheers
Tim
I've all but given up on that. After ten years of working with this, things actually seem worse than the early days.
Thanks for that clarification, I'm sure that this makes more sense to Trolly than telling him he's wrong. I would think he spends more 'real' time in the air around Auckland than everyone else on NZFF combined.
This has always been my main point -- the better you know an area, the more 'off' it will look if it difference is too great.
Timbo wrote:QUOTE (Timbo)Actually to extend on Naki's comments I have noticed a marked difference in coloration depending on the weather I select, flying on a bright clear day (as per REX RW weather LOL) intensifies colors more than say using Orbx_weather_1 which almost makes the terrain go greyscale, not even going to mention the effects ENB/Shade can have

I agree with this, the Orbx weather themes seem to create the most realistic atmospheric mood in FSX for me. Having done a lot of real world flying, I'm always trying to find a spot on match in the sim to what I've been viewing out the cockpit window, although, because the appearance of the terrain varies day to day with weather conditions and seasonal changes, each comparison I try to make is different!
Having said that, I still have never seen NZAA looking as lush as it does in the preview screenshots- however, I'm sure it will look different under different lighting conditions as people have mentioned. Here's a few snaps of the field I've found on my hard drive, all from mid winter at it's wettest:
And after a further looked through some NZNI preview images- the Central Plateau looks great, as does the treeline autogen. I'm still unsure of the colourisation for the bulk of the countryside, but will definitely test it out once it's released I reckon!Last edited by ardypilot on Wed Jul 25, 2012 8:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Your right , must have buried it cos Tauranga airshow three years back had many aircraft taxi in directly off the on the grass , two notable ones was the sightseeing Dak and the Cat , recall them using the grass field unless there is a crossover point on the endsLast edited by Ian Warren on Thu Jul 26, 2012 3:57 pm, edited 1 time in total.

The runway extension gets closed if signal lights indicate a train is crossing. See AIP NZGS AD 2 46.1.QUOTETauranga again - dont recall the drain though[/quote]
