A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

My friend has an interesting problem, when he goes to open his radio or gps etc in instrument views they appear and then instantly shoot to the right side of his screen and disappear, they remain ticked in the box indicating they are open. Has anyone had this problem or can help with a fix. He has used fsx for quite some years and has had no issues before it is happening with multiple aircraft definitely fsx ga aircraft

Has your friend been playing around with two monitors? Sounds like he has (if your seeing the window open and dissappear off to the right, left, top or bottom...I would say the window is disappearing off to a position set in the config.)

Delete the default flight that is saved and restore FSX? default flight. The Glider in the air over US somewhere.
Could also be an addon thats doing it. Definatly sounds like its moving off to another monitor though.

Undocked windows after ALT+Enter and saved as a default will do what is described. Even after the monitor has been removed.

Yeah my pick is it being caused by another monitor- Make sure that the remaining monitor is specified as the default/main monitor in your windows display settings, failing that, try and change it to the opposite.....used to get this alot after using two screens and then moving back to one.

Now I think about it Jeff had to have his mother board replaced in April. I am guessing now he may have mucked up the order of his monitors when he bought it home from the repair. Cheers guys I will call him tonight and see If I can help him out.

After looking at the monitors, ati graphic settings, fsx cfg files with no luck it was as simple as the transparency slider being on full. smile.gif One happy friend
