Being a Rotorhead I've been following this in the last couple of issues of PC Pilot. Will be interesting to see if it takes off.

You can download a trial copy of it at the developers website. http://takeonthegame.com
Testers are born to fiddle. What does this button do? Oh! Never mind.....

This sim is already out and the devs are constantly improving it, its based of Arma2 which is the best FPS. Which is why you can get out and walk around.

Check out the Hind.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun! I've always wanted a charter-copter sim, that's why I loved SimCopter so much.

I'm only on a netbook so it probably won't go. Has here anyone tried it?

Shame the foliage does bend in the breeze. Lighting looks good, though - nicely bright as it is outside. Quite hard to capture that "real world sun" look. Most sims fail in the department, with X-Plane being the worst offender.

Take on Helicopters uses the ARMA2 engine, which is actually a very good platform for flight sims.
TOH on a whole is not too bad, but you have to be prepared to devote some time to it as missions can go longer than 2 hours each.
Also, you will need to do some tweaking to get the graphics settings just right in this sim, but if you are preapred to do that and like helo flying, it can be a pretty good experience, and good fun.
