It's actually at a training school in Dunedin now, on a lease from the owners... I do the maintenance/support stuff for it... what do you want to know about it? <I'll try to answer any questions if you PM me...>

The thread is a bit old but it's still on the first page so here is mine with it's current state.

The last GA cockpit I had was like trifords but with digital gauges and without the shell. I really like pushing real tactile buttons and switches but after years of different set ups the reality is that I like flying too many different aircraft and feel a bit constrained with one layout.

So I have gone to eyefinity for my forward display/virtual cockpit and a 22.5" touchscreen for gauges and everything else, i.e. switches/radios etc. For something like DCS:A10 everything is available on the touchscreen, there are touchpoints that bring up hidden panels, e.g. radios or lighting etc.

It works well and of course I am happy smile.gif A few things I would like to do in the future, some panels I will make on my cnc and I do have a couple of gofrlight radios left over from other projects that I will put next to the touchscreen as they are easier to tune even though the touchscreen is still quite easy.

I make those extenders that you can see on my stick, the aluminium looking thing. @ $100 each I have sold over 60 of them (who would have thought!) so thats paid for most of the things here, computer upgrade, touchscreen, 3 x 42" screens etc.

Heh, it's not too bad. The tray with the keyboard mouse swivels out of the way so you dont have to climb in and out. I reckon it wont be a problem getting in until I'm 70 and that depends on how badly I turn out at 70. I am resisting the temptation for some chips as I type this smile.gif

Oh Dear. I Just had a flick through this forum and had a look at some of the kit people have got, and I feel quite underwhelmed at what I have. laugh.gif

Saitek Cyborg EVO Joystick (w/ twist rudder and 8-way hat switch!)

Standard Acer Keyboard and Mouse

A half decent Acer desktop (My dad's) with FSX installed (from trademe) as well as VLC (20% off), a few captain sim goodies (all on sale), most of Iris' range (thanks to a certain sale last year!) Aerosoft Cat and Twotter (also on sale), Just Flight Hawker Hurricane (I got it for free for filling out a survey), hundreds of WOAI and MIAW packages to fly around with and every good piece of freeware I can get my hands on. Oooh, and as of today REX2.0! (Yeah, on sale too).

So, as you can see, all pretty basic over here, done on a shoestring budget (about $240NZ). laugh.gif laugh.gif

And you don't need a manual to remember how it was programmed and wired just in case something may go wrong
