2 copies of FS2004 up for grabs

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Adamski » Mon Apr 05, 2010 6:33 pm

I'm having a bit of a clear-out and have discovered that I actually own TWO copies of FS2004 - neither of which I need, as I've been happily running FSX for a fair while now.

I suppose I could get the odd few dollars for them on Trademe, but it hardly seems worth it.

People here on NZFF have been very generous - with help and otherwise, so I thought I'd give them away here.

Are they too "past it" now to qualify as possible screencomp prizes? If so, I'd be happy to just give them away.

They're both [sets of] original DVDs (or CD's - will have to check) ... and I suppose I must have the keycharts and maybe even the original boxes somewhere ... not that it matters!

Sure - haven't gone anywhere yet ;-) though I'd like to give one copy as a prize (it people think it's worth it). There are always plenty of copies going on Trademe, but they seem to ask around $30-$40, which strikes me as a bit optimistic for a sim that's 6 years old now.

I know what you mean! I gave [yet another!!] copy to my brother in law - plus a copy of FSX (both found cheap on Trademe). He was so pleased with the original FS2004 that he never bothered installing FSX (if it ain't broke etc.). He did end up putting FSX on his new Win7 laptop, but always plays it on his old XP desktop - FS2004.

To be honest, though, I've bought quite a few FSX-only aircraft that I'm hardly likely to go back to an FS2004 install without them. Also ... I have a huge cardboard box full of "old" software that people just won't buy these days - some way newer than FS2004 sad.gif

I sold a couple on TM for around $5-$10 but by the time you've fielded 20 idiot questions, answered the usual emails, packed them .... and so on ...

Marty , i also gave my old dis-used copy,s to others .. thumbup1.gif , I no off 2 young family's , both don't have top end systems but would handle these FlightSim s very well , one to a good friend at work , ill find out tomorrow if he wants 2000 , 2002 now may have a family member , his birthday is the 10th this month , 'Hunter' course my brother Richard in toe unsure.gif .. well you have to hear how good he can fly , at a now 7 .. oh boy ! i'm pleased i can hand them back!

But i am sure he would be plucked and a jumping to have his own FS program , the good thing is i could use much off the old scenery and maybe get that non tech country farm boy 'my brother' , nothing like you , back into this century !

Adam good on ya clapping.gif

Maybe I should have a clean out too I have some old flight sim programs lying around just opened a draw of CDs and In there is Combat FS ww11 Europe Series, Sierra Red Barron 11, Sierra Pro Pilot, Flight Unlimited 11 and MS flight Sim 95 I should have FS 98, 2000 and 2002 somewhere unless I have already given them away also still have boxed set of FS9 taking up room in another draw but will hold it for a while.
If anyone is interested in any of the other ones let me know.

Ah *yes* I remember that one!!! You could fly it head to head with someone else in the AH-64 <??> - or have another player sit in the gunner position.

Wow - this thread has gone mad laugh.gif maybe we should start an NZFF charity garage sale thread for pre-loved oldies!!! I could add about 650 items straight off!!!

I still have Falcon4 - and the *boxed* set of manuals etc. Why? Pure sentiment ... it was such an amazing sim (still is!!!). For some reason it grabbed me ... where the graphically more polished LOMAC left me cold. I think it must have been the campaign(s) ... just kept you hooked.

EDIT: New thread for recycling your old [cough] gems here!
