3D flight sim and eyestrain

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

With all the hype about Avatar in 3D, I was experimenting with flight sim in 3D. Tried a disc that I picked up in Switzerland, for a 3D flight around the country, and got it working ok. One thing that both a friend and myself noticed was that after a short time, that we both felt eyestrain. We were using the old-fashioned red/green specs. rather than the polarized glasses that I think Avatar uses.

Searched around on the net, and found that eyestrain is not an uncommon problem with 3D, so I am wondering if any other NZFF members have experimented with FSX in 3D and if you have had any problems with eyestrain. Also it would be good to hear some feedback about how FSX is in 3D, our early experiments were impressive!!!

Smooth landings (2D or 3D).

I picked up a pair of $5 3D glasses after downloading the free iZ3D drivers. And it doesn't really work for me. I don't know about eyestrain though...I don't think that happened.
