F-16 Sim I wonder what software they are using? I'd be keen on a rampstart, CCIP/Lob toss delivery, inflight refuel and maybe 2 or 3 SU37s Gunzo. Hope the stick has the realsimulator mod.

I flew the Hamilton 737 a couple of weeks ago (it moved here from Botany, AKL). They appear to have a good number of people having a go with close to 100 vouchers sold for Fathers Day. I am just down the road so I'll see tomorrow how the progress on the F16 is going.

I have been using a Canon 400D but I'm finding as good (if not better) results from a Panasonic LX3. It's also 500 grams lighter. AUW 4.5Kg.
The heli is a Trex-600 using 6S 5000mA lipo batteries. We have a live-view downlink to the camera operator (viewing a 12"lcd) who controls / steers the camera.

The camera mount is a DIY of my own design. I am considering going into the manufacture of the mounts.

It's a fun part-time job but not easy against a heap of new polecams now springing up. Nearly time to shoot for fun. I've done the hard yards but I can't afford to go full-time.

Great write-up in your blog. I just did a 30 min hop around Wellington. I did good... really good (apparently). My wife was a little concerned at how well it went knowing that I used to fly before we got hitched... late last century. Well worth everyone having a go. It was great just to see the relief on the instructor when he realised you can already fly and know what the controls do. I would hate to teach someone "effect of controls" basics in a 737 sim!!!

I was an instructor at FE Christchurch for about 10 months (and continued taking newbies for rides in my time at Pac Sim). Being an instructor was great, but yes, gets a little tedious at times teaching everyone the same things over and over

Yeah it gets tiresome, but to be honest I do find simmers, especially those who fly the big stuff before they come to the sim a lot easier than some real world vfr pilots who are always trying to look at the pretty colors outside rather than the pretty colors inside which actually matter. Had photos just taken of F-16 in basic form, sorry guy who took them, not sure of your name, they should be up by this afternoon aparently. I'll keep you guys up to date on this thread on the progress, it should all be ready for flight testing within the week, and publicly available in at most 2 weeks, assuming no major issues, found when it arrived that it has a trackIR, so for those who know how to use that it could be a help in dogfights.

Yip .. I had a look at the face of the instructor , i could see here we go again 'sigh' , Told Andrew sit back and enjoy the ride , I really took over , I then demonstrated the areas off interest explained and even point out various landmarks of which he new nothing about .... the landing into Christchurch least to say he was impressed ... ... Just to finish his morning .. i got home with the DVD of the flight , my two passengers wanted to see it again ... Ha .. i phone immediately the camera was not working !

This Flight Experience was duly thanks to 'Albatross' Alister , donating the ride , for my quick thinking getting on the phone to FE and explaining the problem gave me an extra flight , this time the DVD worked .

I agree with you there VDM. It's a battle to get the VFR private pilots used to flying Cessnas to leave the pedals alone. You don't use them so much in the 737 sim.. The sim pilots are the best

Falcon 4 AF, to be honest having seen it running, we should upgrade, which would you guys reccommend, I was thinking of going 3 ways, for those who wanted carrier landngs (yes I know, f-16 on carrier=no), FSX. Then for those who want to have completely arcade fun: HAWX, then for a f-16 simulation I'm still looking, IDEAS???
