This is not PAPI, its T-VASI. The lights are red only when you are well below glide path, as in holy cow climb! The trouble is, the lights are slightly covered by the custom runway (difficult to get around) but I did make sure that they are readable.
The row of lights you are taking as PAPI actually represent the glide path. If you can see lights above this, you're high -- 3 lights=very high, 2 lights=high, 1 light=slightly high. Lights below the line represent too low.
EDIT: oops, I kinda gave the impression that you'd always need to fly down if you had one high light. T-VASI is actually useful if you need more eye-height, such as in a 767. In that case you'd aim for one high light. In this way its more accurate than PAPI.
Thanks Robin. Understand this now. Was there a reason for going to T-VASI? I thought Wellington uses PAPI, but happy to be corrected on it.
Cheers

Honestly not 1000% sure -- my 'current' info is obtained from AIP (PDF file).

Cool, I stand corrected!I was sure I saw PAPI lights a while ago. I wonder if there is an upgrade project going on with the extension to the runways, or perhaps I need better coffee

But I don`t think that it`s supporting the clarity if I start a new thread about a problem that seems to be the same.
Hope it doesn`t matter....
Chris
I will take a look at this, but at the moment I haven't reinstalled FS2004.
