They removed the crash detection for political correctness FSX has multicore support so its more than capable of featuring crashes.

I suspect it was less PC and more FC -- Financial Correctness:) As I said yesterday, no airline would allow their aircraft depicted in a realistic crash -- and once actual liveries started to appear in quantity, it was no doubt a better decision to remove crash detection than to open the door to niggly little lawsuits from jittery airlines.

Case in point , 1988 myself and my Brother built a 1/10 scale 747 for a birdman rally to push from a wharf in Lyttleton , We thought best to ask the airline if we could paint it in the Air New Zealand livery , that was a big NO! , fortunate we knew the QANTAS manager out at Christchurch at the time , he gave us the thumbs up , so painted in Aussie colours it was , a photo appeared in that flight magazine , ...... and Yes we won the catagery of most real .

I think you can add explosions and crashes as its been done for an addon for FS9 I know that the earlier versions featured it but its actually quite good in sims like FC where a bad landing can equal a flat tyre or damaged gear. There was a delay when FS2002 was made as they had to remove the twin towers but I think they removed the crashes before that. Its quite likely that the next gen sims will feature it though as other companies feature that sort of detail.

Even if you had never asked they could never have stopped you as theres nothing wrong with that especially not back in 1988 no one would have cared.

In 88 , was still the period with the DC-10 incident , yes 79 the crash , reports were still only getting made public and many involved were dying due to the stress , but we had very good friends at ANZ and in respect to them QANTAS it was .
