Has anyone played Flight Aviator?

A single forum dedicated to all other non Microsoft flight simulation games

Here is the website of this sim: http://www.flight-aviator.com/

Has anyone here played it? How good is it / how good is the scenery? There are scenery packs you can buy. The website had lots of graphics missing which isn't very professional looking.

I've got an idea Flight Pro Sim is the same game by a different name, or by the same people. http://www.flightprosim.com/

What about X-Plane 8 by Laminar Research?

If you're interested in X-Plane, do a forum search (top right of the screen; under the banner) for "X-Plane" (with quotation marks), because there are a few really in-depth threads about it around the place. winkyy.gif

If this is related to the guy on Trademe selling the flight sims, you can download them completely free last time I checked. Though it's not that good, at least last time I tried it. http://www.flightgear.org/

It looks ok and sounds like the other one that you have to pay for.
For a free flight simulator it wouldn't be too bad to try at least.

Every few years, I used to go down the "I wonder what else is out there that's better than MSFS" tangent. My particular favourite was Terminal Reality Fly!, simply for it's procedural detail. You actually had to read the manual in order to get an aircraft starting, and it took about half an hour the first time you tried it.

Sadly, the conclusion I eventually came to was that unless you're prepared to stare out into space at a blank land form, there's nothing quite like MSFS, simply because with popularity comes add-ons. Not many developers will write add-ons for a simulator that isn't the most popular. The only exception to this is X-plane, which has been gathering momentum for the last few years.

Having said all this, I'm always on the lookout for what else is out there. Flightgear seems to be the classic open source project in that development has been so slow that it looks out of date before it's even finished. I also never had any joy getting a remotely bearable frame rate for some reason.

I'm always looking for another sim... I think it's a disease. Ah well, what am I to do smile.gif I also totally agree on Fly! (and I am still hunting for an original Fly!2 for my collection... that's a whole other subject just quietly!)

That sure looks like Flightgear (FGFS), which I urge anyone who has looked at it before, then gone away disappointed to download the latest build, get a nice addon plane (I like the Citation II myself) get a good local chunk of the world scenery and fly a dusk approach into Queenstown.
I have been following FGFS for years, and though the development is slow it is a community driven evolving product. I am really impressed with where it is at today.
