There is a virtual red checkers group over at ARNZ, although it's rather 'exclusive', and I'm not sure they entertain new members... unsure.gif

There are a fixed number of places in the real world Red Checkers so I believe that is why they are not allowing new members to join after they had initially selected the team. Bad timing for you I guess

There is nothing stopping you having a go yourself (either setting up your own virtual team or just an online session)- A post in the Multiplayer thread saying when you would like to fly usually gets a good response (remember to state what version of the Sim you are using).

Its good fun New_Zealand_etc.gif plane.gif

Hey Guys

I am currently the flight leader of the Virtual Red Checkers. And Max (ZK-MADMAX) and I run the admin side of it together.

To waka172rg , Im not sure what you were trying to say there. We currently arent looking for any pilots for our immediate flight team, but if we were. Anybody would be able to apply, and it would go down to flight skill and personality.

So to answer the other question, we are not a "Exclusive Club". smile.gif

Also not sure why you said "nar they don't Alex iv asked! and psm: not very nice!" we try to reply as proffesionally to applications as we can, so Im not too sure what thats about ? unsure.gif

If anyone has any questions about anything, Please feel free.

Regards

So - how're the VRC doing?
Do you use the same routines as the RW RC?
How often do you train?
How many members?
Reserves?
When are you aiming for display standard?
How will you do displays?

We are doing very well considering we have only been a team for a month or two.
We will eventually be using mostly the same routine as the real RNZAF Red Checkers, but as we are only just in the early stages we are doing our best too perform the best routine for our skill at that time.
We currently train once a week on a wednesday night, but when we were preparing for Ohakea 08, Twice or three times a week.
We have 5 Members in the immediate flight team, ( Myself, Max , Ryan , Nick , James. )
We did have a full back-up team, but we stopped that idea a while ago. But never know, we could start that up again soon so be on the lookout!
Well we had our first public display at OHAKEA 08. And that went great, but as we are reasonably new team our performance was limited.
Our displays are us Flying a manuever, then transition to next and so on. Aim to have commentator, and Video Recordist.

Be on the lookout on our section in the ARNZX forums, as we are buliding the VRC part of the website to a proper area, and thinking of some very cool things to come. Also if any positions come up, or we are looking for new roles. I will give you guys a shout!

Hope this helps ?

Good luck, it's hard work gettig up to speed, and takes some dedication.
You might consider upping your flight contingent to 7, for the same reasons the RW outfit do.
Look forward to seeing some video of your efforts, thanks for the post.
