Project AI

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

..something whilst I've had my head down arse up creating another batch of GB plans?
Have they gone ? Or should I say, where have they gone?
Any assistance would be gratefully received.
Cheers

Yeah, doesn't seem to have been a lot of recent activity at PAI, lots of support questions in their forums but not too many announcements of new work.

World-of-AI is obviously very busy cranking out new installs. Did PAI used to be as active as them? Be interested to hear some history of how there came to be TWO communities of AI package builders, was there any hostile competition or is it fairly convivial?

I've sucked down almost a 1GB of WOAI installers over the last month or so, lotsa fun seeing the aiports come to life. Do you know much about the AlphaIndiaGroup? They seem to cranking out lotsa flight-plans and the odd model.

Pai from memory were going before Woai, used to be really active but have got slower and slower, now i cant even log
onto their site. I guess there may be some sort of political type bickering going on behind the scenes, all i know is i liked the set up
at Pai as you could select a specific repaint as well a whole airline. Having said that Woai is excellent too for what they produce.
As for the Aig funnily enough don't know too much about them until 2 days ago when one of their contributors needed something from me
concerning my G- British flight plans. Will have to have a looksie.
Cheers

I was wondering about WOAI myself. Who they are and what's behind them.? For freeware they seem to produce a staggering amount of stuff.

WOAI don't really create any aircraft models as far as I know, and also don't necessarily create all the textures you get with their bundles. From what I can make out their effort is more directed at creating flight-plans for airlines then sourcing repaints that authors are happy for them to use and bundling them together. WOAI provide an installer like the PAI one which does a great job of splicing new repaints into existing aircraft folders, I've been keeping a good eye on the aircraft.cfg files in my install and so far so good.

You are going to http://www.projectai.com right? It's been ok for me lately. You can still access the legacy standalone models and the bundles. The forums are also active, and some posts from members recently about bundles they are working on, so they are definitely still active.

Yeah, they're real busy too tho huh? Have been posting loads of flightplan updates for 2008 airline schedules to avsim.
