Closed FS Companies

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Kelburn » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:01 pm

I was just wondering if there are any other companies other than FSS and PSS that have closed down out of interest (funnily enough they both have two ss's on the end of their name)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

I think it's FFS (Flight Factory Simulations) and PSS. Looks like Justflight bought the rights to the PSS software, as all the PSS products are available through http://www.justflight.com. winkyy.gif

Just read that Aeroworx (the makers of the brilliant King Air) is basically no more - they still support the FS9 version (and their web site still exists) but a FSX version will be produced by Flight 1 where the guys from Aeroworx now work anyway. There wil be no more products under the Aeroworx name.

They're not actually closed, they just don't have any products at the moment and their developers are working on other projects. But they're not closed laugh.gif

The development of the fsx B200 was apparently taken over by Flight 1 about a year ago. I didn't spot any mention of this in the Aeroworx forum until yesterday when this post appeared. The facts that Aeroworx have maintained absolute silence about it even when asked how progress was going and that the next version will be fsx only seem to have upset a few people.

Personally I'm with Kurt - I don't particularly like turboprops, and I've never got the hang of how far to move my throttles in this one to produce the desired torque level, but it was the first payware addon I ever bought, I've never regretted it, I've had a lot of fun with it, and Aerowork don't owe me anything.

I guess it's a death knell for their T6 though. Dang, I was looking forward to that ... Oh well, it's a good excuse to buy the alphasim one sooner rather than later tongue.gif

Cheers
Gary

There was a company called Flightcraft Simulations. Dont remember all products they had but one - MiG-21. I remember wavering between their one and Captain Sim's.

Their T-6 died ages ago along with the Baron and Caravan they were suppose to be doing. Whats left of the Aeroworx team now work for Flight 1 and are working on the Flight 1 Citation Mustang amongst others. I see that the main part of Aeroworxs web site has now closed although the support forum still exists so effectively Aeroworx only exists for FS9 Super King Air.
