I moved that Red Baron NZ Topo directory into Addon Scenery but it still comes up with Error window when I load FS9. How can I get rid of this.?

Pato - you want to go to Settings - Scenery Library scroll down till you find a double-up maybe .

There is something still not right. When I go to Scenery Library and click on Red Baron Topo is doesn't show anything in the Directory or Scenery area title windows.
But if I click on Mesh it shows the in the Directory the path "Addon scenery\RB NZ Mesh" and NZ Mesh in Scenery window.

From the Scenery library , you can search for the file you want to install , if you have put the Topo into addon scenery folder , go from there .

Well that will be easy enough to check the 20m Mesh. Thanks.

It seems I can't say this often enough -- the Topo installer doesn't just copy files, it also renames some of the default files to disable them, so you can't just copy the topo files to FS2004 and expect it to work.
The SimPilot site has a list of files which need to be renamed -- I've also seen the list here recently, I think Mike supplied it, so go looking.
There is another method which springs to mind -- presumably the topo installer will find FS2004 if it has a proper registry pointer, and FSX doesn't, so you could try this:

Run the Registry Editor (Start: Run: Regedit)

Find the entry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\flight simulator

You should have an entry for 10.0 and 9.0.

(If you don't have an entry for 9.0, or the EXE path doesn't point to your FS2004 install, then that's your problem.)

Highlight the 'flight simulator' folder, and export it (File: Export... give it a filename)

Now highlight the 10.0 folder, and delete it.

You should now be able to exit Regedit and run the Topo installer, which should find FS2004 rather than FSX.

When you've finished, restart Regedit, and import the 'flight simulator' entries (File: Import -- browse to the file you exported earlier.)

You edit the Registry at your own risk -- don't play around in there:)
I could not install Real NZ WN correctly and after finding a similar problem on the forum I am sure that I still have not installed Topo correctly so with trepidation I am going to try the above.
Can you advise what the entry 10.0 and 9.0 are please.? Also I presume I will have to uninstall Real NZ WN.
I have both those entries in the Registry. Now if I do as you suggest will that effect any installations to FSX which is on "E" or will that only allow me to install to FS9 which is on "D".?

I assume that the FS2004 path in the registry is correct?
What I've suggested is that you TEMPORARILY remove the Registry entry for FSX, but put it back as soon as you have installed the Topo. So the steps are:
1. back up the FSX registry then delete it;
2. run the Topo installer;
3. go straight back into regedit and import the FSX registry -- don't try to run FSX or install anything else in the meantime!

This assumes that the Topo installer looks in the registry for the location of the sims, but I'm not entirely sure.
'9.0' is the registry entry for FS2004 -- it includes the FS2004 installed path;
'10.0' is the registry entry for FSX -- it includes a few things, but mainly the FSX installed path.

Many installers will look for these entries to obtain the location of the sim -- my Real NZ installers do that -- which makes things pretty foolproof, unless:
1. the registry doesn't point to the correct location -- this normally happens if you manually move the FS2004 or FSX installation to another location, after it is already installed (not recommended!);
2. the installer is designed to handle both sims, but doesn't give you a choice of which to install it to? which may be the case here...

If you are having the same sort of trouble with Real NZ Wellington, then you probably have the FS2004 version and are applying the update?

That looks fine, now just follow the instructions I gave earlier -- to backup the FSX registry, click on the '10.0' entry, go to the file menu, and choose 'export'. This will store the FSX registry away safely so that you can delete it from the registry, and restore (import) it afterwards.
