I assume that the FS2004 path in the registry is correct?
What I've suggested is that you TEMPORARILY remove the Registry entry for FSX, but put it back as soon as you have installed the Topo. So the steps are:
1. back up the FSX registry then delete it;
2. run the Topo installer;
3. go straight back into regedit and import the FSX registry -- don't try to run FSX or install anything else in the meantime!
This assumes that the Topo installer looks in the registry for the location of the sims, but I'm not entirely sure.
'9.0' is the registry entry for FS2004 -- it includes the FS2004 installed path;
'10.0' is the registry entry for FSX -- it includes a few things, but mainly the FSX installed path.
Many installers will look for these entries to obtain the location of the sim -- my Real NZ installers do that -- which makes things pretty foolproof, unless:
1. the registry doesn't point to the correct location -- this normally happens if you manually move the FS2004 or FSX installation to another location, after it is already installed (not recommended!);
2. the installer is designed to handle both sims, but doesn't give you a choice of which to install it to? which may be the case here...
If you are having the same sort of trouble with Real NZ Wellington, then you probably have the FS2004 version and are applying the update?
