INVERTED ,intense peer pressure,, TIMMO .. surprised you did't try and get him to land on the ASB pad laugh.gif

Funny you should mention the ASB pad... we actually did have a discussion about this... ninja.gif

and mechanics bay, but the $1000 landing fee put me off!

We had a fairly good turn out with about a dozen people (some came early and went earlier and others came later). Even somebody who dosen't belong to this forum turned up and another guy who is not a regular poster also turned up - hes designing an add onmodel (Europa homebuilt). Next time I suggest that we have a stack of PCs set up in the board room so we can check out other peoples set up.

Yeah... sorry guys sad.gif According to the forecasts and online ATIS etc... it should have been sweet as... TG was FEW at 3000'!??! and the area forecast looked OK...

One of the instructors has advised that next time, I should try the 'Colville Gap'... up towards the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula... a bit further to go up and around, but should be passable.

To rub salt into the wound, I was hanging around the club this afternoon around 1630... and watched one of the bayflight aircraft (KID) do a Touch+Go.... so obviously this arvo it had cleared enough for them to come over dry.gif rolleyes.gif

I hope you got some enjoyment out of our tiki tour... I had a good time (I usually do when flying winkyy.gif)... but personally I am a bit bummed to have missed the sim ride... I had even been practicing the heavy metal on FSX! sad.gif

Apologies to the Daniel and Naki... and the Flight Experience guys... thx for all the organisational efforts... hope you all had fun!

Yea the Kaimais really cleared up later so I guess the Bayflight Cessna got over fairly easily later on. I am aiming for a another meet in November as the Classic Flyers is a great venue for us to use.

Hey Guys,

It was a shame the Auckland guys couldn't come down.
It looks like there might be another meet possibly at Tauranga again in the summer.
We had a great day down there and it was good to get to meet everyone.
We forgot to take a group photo pirate.gif tongue.gif
Thanks for organising it Naki thumbup1.gif

Cheers
Daniel

PS. Your flying in the sim was awesome Naki thumbup1.gif tongue.gif

I am not sure about the FE landing myself - I certainly would of want of being a passenger with me at the controls!

Thanks for posting the pics of the flight Timmo. Looks like a good flight even if you didn't get to Tauranga.
November sounds good Naki, I'll try to be there next time.

I could have come as I was seeing a mate off at Wellington and he printed his boarding pass of and he got two. One was for him back to Nelson and the other was for a Berry Andrew to Tauranga. We decided not to use (not that we would as I'd be stuck with no way to get back along with the problem of the legalities)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Thanks Naki, for organising the meeting! Not a bad turnout at all, and it was good to put some names to faces at last smile.gif
One unexpected bonus was after we went our separate ways, I wandered on down to the gliding club to catch up with a few of the lads and got roped in to setting up a sim computer for another club...
they got rather excited about the prospect of soaring around a highly detailed NZ, with accurate representations of the machines we use and the conditions we fly in - I'll keep you all posted as to progress on that

Yeah I had the same situation today- one of Dad's mates and also an ex-VA pilot was at our place and I showed him FS. He's a Jetstar A320 Captain based in Christchurch and was pretty excited at the prospect of having a bit of practice biggrin.gif

Hi guys.
Nice to meet a few of you at the recent meet.
As NAKI has stated, I'm working on the development of a home-built Europa model, having been inspired by the series on SKY TV a few years ago - "A Plane is Born".

Still some way off completing the model, but here is a pic by way of a teaser...

Hope you like...

Cheers.

Welcome to the forums GEEWNZ, did you model that Europa yourself? It looks very professional- I look forward to the release thumbup1.gif

Will it be freeware or payware and for fs2004 of fsx?
