Old enroute charts

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Adamski » Sun Jul 06, 2008 3:18 am

I'm sure this topic comes up again and again ... but I couldn't find a (relatively) recent plea ...

Usual thing - has anyone got any spare *OLD* enroute charts for NZ? Free/cheap/donation to specified charity?

I've just checked the AIP shop - $30 for a new set. Not sure whether I can afford that much sad.gif

Obviously not tor *real* flying - this is just to whizz around NZ in FSX, so they don't need to be that up-to-date (as long as they roughly correspond to the FSX database).

Does the AIP online site have the charts you are after?
You can get them for free off the site.

The AIP site will have current charts, but if Adamski is after old enroute charts specifically then the AIP site won't be of much help.
There's lots of copies of the charts on TradeMe from time to time.

I have the entire AIP on my computer, I can send them too you or upload them somewhere if you need or want me to.
I have the ones from around February this year so they're current.

Perhaps You could upload them Anthony, so all NZFFers could download them? smile.gif

You can get them off of the AIP website, but here you go.

I've not finished uploading them as the whole AIP is pretty big, but when I have they'll be somewhere here:
http://nzff.musiclive.co.nz/aip

I'm also not sure what exactly you're looking for, but this is the 3.1-3.3 section from the ENR which is Volume II of the AIP.
Edit: Actually I do know what you're looking for, and they're not provided for free online download. As far as I know you can only buy them.
If someone has the enroute charts (ENRC) or can buy them, then please scan them or take a decent picture - I can then host that electronic version. I can also scan them if I get sent them. smile.gif
These are what he's looking at/for I think.

Just to let everyone know that I'll be collecting as much of this as I can and hosting it at the link I posted before (http://nzff.musiclive.co.nz).
I've got copies of the AIP to upload, plus the thing that ZK-MAT posted. I'll also archive the link Ian gave (provided I'm allowed).

You're welcome Admaski.

It would be really good if you could upload the visual charts towerguy. I really want some, but I live in Aussie now, so its a bit of a hassle sending them- But it would be awesome if all those could download and print off for use. smile.gif

I thought maybe I could scan/copy and put into a format A4 and we then can post freely world areas Example below ..

To ADMIN. you have to excuse the size , need to show the each frame requires editing due to the maps are almost see thru and even after edit some items still show through
............................
I believe I can scan edit and gradually complete each world map with a index , best part to put into your own private clear folder covering each Chart .

I have many older US/Canada - Europe - Atlantic/Pacific Routes , low alt European chart - Far East to Alaska but miss many others like South America / China /Russia .... thing that really makes me tiggle ... they work real in FS smile.gif

I know what you mean, Ian - I think they were printed in blotting paper. No excuse, really - as these could have been printed on Tyvek (which is impermeable, waterproof and un-tearable). In my previous life, I was a graphic designer - and was always saddened to see how many map makers (of all kinds) refuse to use a decent material for the job. They just want yours to fall apart quicker so they can sell you another one [sigh].

On another note - in my *current* life I'm a web developer and have access to to servers for hosting etc. I can always host all these map files in one place if needs be. That's the *easy* bit winkyy.gif

Some very generous offers here ... wow! thumbup1.gif

Yea, scanning in those charts can be a hassle - when I went in they could do it (cost something like $11 to be scanned, pdf'ed and put onto a CD) - but in B & W only...
