I have experienced approx nine BSOD's in the past four months and up until this week I have had no problem powering up again and rerunning either FSX or FSX.....however, this week I reloaded FS9 and discovered that after
the FS2004 Splash Screen finishes it's loading sequence I get a stalled black screen. I have now run out of options to fix this problem!! I had Nvidia 174.74 (Beta) installed when this particular BSOD occurred and have since loaded the latest 175.16 version. FSX is running OK though I may not have been operating it for a decent length of time to completely eliminate another BSOD. I have never had this problem before in a many years of flightsimmimg and both FSX and FS9 were installed on to my new setup OCT 07 and I cannot see how my hardware could be faulty?
Basic Setup is:
Intel Dual Core E6850
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 LGA775 Motherboard
ASUS N8800GTS 320M Video Card
700WPSU
XP and DirectX 9.0C
The BSOD message last week read:
Technical info:
* X3 0X0000007E (OXC0000005, OX804EE6F6, OXB6ACE7C3C, OXBACF7938)
Check with your hardware vender for any BIOS updates.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use safe mode to remove or diabale compoments. restart your computor,press F8 to select
Advanced Setup options, then select safe mode.
I realise I have the option of a complete FS9 reinstall.....but maybe one of you "Gurus" out there have a much simpler solution!!??
