Tauranga NZFF Meet @ Classic Flyers Museum

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Naki » Wed Jun 25, 2008 11:09 pm

I was briefly discussing with another member today we should have a Tauranga NZFF meet since there seems to be few Tauranga members around and others from Rotorua, Hamilton & Auckland may also be interested (maybe even further afield). A venue could be the Classic Flyers Museum.

I've touched on this before but it didnt get anywhere - if anybodys interested post here and let me have some feedback of best days (weekend obviously), month, times, venue etc.

Somebody could bring along a PC - and we can swap ideas etc etc over a beer or two (or coffee)

Cheers

Paul

I think Tauranga would be a good venue. Great airport with lots of action and the classic flyers museum is really good.
It has its own meeting rooms etc and they are nicely layed out with an aviation theme.
I can get to Tauranga quite easily and can might be able to rent out our apartment up at the mount if anyone needs to stay the night.
Maybe we can organise some time in the 737 sim next door? or go for a quick flight? Anyway I think it would be a good idea.

Cheers

I could probably make it to a Tauranga meet up if it was on a weekend.
This is a good idea, and Daniel has some other interesting ideas.

And as a local resident I think it's a great idea - I will fit in anytime that it suits the most starters ..

Could supply a bed and brekky if it helped someone.........

I'd be a starter too, haven't met any of you but I like the idea of a real-world conversation. The wife isn't really involving herself in flight-sim talk rolleyes.gif
Plus its a nice quick jaunt for me over the Kaimais from Hamilton

Sounds like it could be a good meet up.
I can only go on the weekends or the school holidays.
If we do want to go up for a quick flight or sim ride I might be able to oraganise something.

Cheers

Providing it is before July 22nd, I'd be happy to provide extra ballast in the back- and I'll chip in for gas too winkyy.gif

Okay looks like there is some real keen interest - now to get a date and a venue! (and approval from the boss (wife)). I also like your idea Daniel, about the 737 sim...

...and see if we can squeeze it in before Andrew heads on his OE in July
