AI programs used

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hello fellow simmers.

Does anyone have a commercial AI program they use and find it easy to install and operate.?

regards
Jim.

Hey Jim. If you mean AI aircraft and schedules etc and if your also talking the Oceanic area, then
I can definitely recommend the VOZ stuff, its not commercial, but the installer is very easy to
use, no manual configuration really necessary...

Hi Jim,

Can recommend the GNZLAP one for New Zealand (From Charl of this forum) to populate your local airfields with a lot of Cessnas, Pipers etc. You need a payware program (about $20-00 NZ) to really flesh it out.

To put a bit of Traffic into our main centres I used the WOAI Air New Zealand and Qantas. The WOAI Installer and programs are all on AVSIM and even I found them reasonably easy to use.

Cheers...Bazza.

Thanks for the plug, Bazza.
So far the couple of thousand GNZLAP users aren't making too much of a noise, which is usually a good sign!
(You should check out the forumthough, there are bits added after release)
One thing about VOZ: sure it installs Oceanic AI, but if you fly elsewhere in the world and want to add airlines, you will end up with double traffic there.
Mindful of this, I "fixed" the VOZ traffic fileto limit it to the feederliner bits found peculiarly in NZ and OZ.
This allows you to install the excellent WOAI ANZ, Qantas, and other international packages as you please.

If this sounds too hard, follow Bazza's advice and just go for the WOAI packages, available on AVSIM.

I use VOZ AI and mix in PAI (for mainly America and Europe but also Asia)

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Awesome, thanx for the heads-up on that Charl, missed it in the forum. I'm using your GNZLAP collection also (should have mentioned sorry  ) and the HTAI stuff is definately worth the few $$$, it really helps bring the GA stuff to life.

Does anyone know if there's a Pacific AI pack? You know, just the airlines and routes that feed the pacific islands. International carriers and local ones. I know VOZ include a lot in theirs but it seems to mostly be the international carriers.

VOZ AI is releasing a new package this year for FS9 and FSX and every airline will be seperated so that each one can be easily removed if you want to do an install of an airlines full package.

There will also be lots of Pacific Island movements.

Excellent news - VOZ fills a gap in this neck of the woods, like no other.
I still have remnants of the very first release running around my sim!

Thanks guys, much appreciated. Yes, I am following the FTX program and they made a statement the other day about AI aircraft to be used later this year. Great stuff, and very exciting times for simmers.

Just a heads up that the Air New Zealand B763 and B772 in VOZ AI that were very ordinarily painted have been repainted for the new release and look much more like the real thing.

I also have a quick question

Are there updates following the real world like no more Air NZ Saabs and more Q300's?

Unfortunately Charl AIA still refuse to let us use their aircraft, so that means that the fuit stand is a no no as well

So the major Airlines are PAI, FSP, DJC, with HTAI freeware, Dee Waldron, Mehlin Rainer, Klaus Brosemann and Microsoft all with a lot of new repaints and flightplans.

The Air New Zealand fleet will be up to date within a month or two of when the package is released, there will also be small updates this time to add B777-300 and B787's when they arrive.
