Name That Plane!

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hello folks, I was browsing some web sites and I found one that sold some software that tested a persons ability to name a plane. I thought that this is a good idea. And I would like it so that I could test myself and my 8 year old son would like to use it as well.

What I normally do in this situation is I make the software to do the task myself.
I never downloaded the companies software so I don't know how it works so I won't copy their software.
But I do have a problem, I have no photos or drawings of planes.

So I thought that I could ask here for photos of planes (or maybe even well detailed drawings as well?).
Photos of planes from many distances, in the air and one the ground.
All the photos would have to be copyright free - so I would prefer your own personal photos that you have taken at airports or when you have been flying yourself, if you would be so kind to donate them. They would need to be good value but probably less than a Megabyte in size - I can resize them though.
Also I would need some information about the plane in the photo, what make of plane created in what year etc. Also your name would be included with the software, possibly in the About Box dialog box.

The software would be reasonably large due to photos being built into the software.
I imagine that it would randomly pull a photo out of the bag and you would have to choose from a list of say about 4 planes names.
Or you could type in the name of the plane (a tad harder).
The software would also be free as well to help up-and-coming-pilots learn how to recognise different planes in the air and on the ground.

How can I get the photos?
You could email them to me I suppose - is it safe to put my email address in this post?

Any suggestions?

I'd be happy to contribute from my rather small collection of photos - what sort of aircraft are you looking for? :)

For such a program I would assume that we would mainly want photos of planes that can be found around the average airport like Cessna's Pipers, and possibly some airliners etc.
The idea is that the software will help you recognise a plane that you will see while you are flying.
It would be very helpful for beginners.

So really you can use your imagination and we will see what you can come up with. :)
When it is finished it will be free for everyone.

I have a few that might be good (let me know if they're what you want), how big do you want them (resolution...)? Then I'll shoot off a PM and we can arrange some way to get them to you. :)
