A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby FunkymonkeyNZ » Sat Mar 08, 2008 6:58 pm

Hey all

Jut thinking to myself today and was thinking of some cool ideas that could be used to market or display our website and passion.
Please remember is just a thought but your feedback may make this idea become reality.
Wouldnt it be cool if we could set up a tent or a canopy displaying what we are all about? nothing to flash just shelter, chairs and a few of us members all getting together and mingiling and maybe if its possible hand out some flyers to the good public explaining what we are all about! i'm not to sure if we need consent first from the event organisers but we are not there to make a profit just to share and get together, i first need a number of how many of us NZFF members would be attending the event, anymore than five would be Ace, but then again some of you maybe there with friends and family but even just to have a place at the event where our members can actually all meet up and get to know one another....Let me know ya thoughts guys and we'll see what we can do!!!

Look forward to seeing you there, I'll be in my Black-T >nzflag<

Thats definently an excellent Idea fm! I would have to say, im not sure what the event organisers would say, but its not for revenue so why not?

For future reference, WOW normally publish this PDF, which outlines the cost of stalls and sites. Note that the minimum price is $500 + GST, for a bare piece of ground, although probably more useful is a stall in the Spitfire Pavilion -- $740 + GST. A power point costs an extra $112.
I have always wanted to set up there, and I'd be there this year if I could possibly afford it, but Easter always comes at the worst time of the year:) I'd still like to one day, maybe Omaka next year, and I'd be happy to print a NZFF poster and some fliers.
But for the NZFF itself, I don't see how we could cover the expense, considering how difficult it was to raise the funds for the new web-site.

Ok then well maybe i didnt think this through, i thought people could just throw up a tent and call it there spot for the day, just like they do at the V8's but obviously this isnt the case, i was just hopeing to set up a gathering spot for us members to chill out at and get to know oneanother, i wasn't intending to be selling addon products and what not, no offense Rob :P

Next to the tower at 12pm seems to have worked in the past, and usally there is a one hour intermission during this time, so I'd be keen to give it a try at Wanaka

I'll be there Saturday... haven't got a ticket yet but I didn't have a problem at Classic Fighters last year. Does it ever sell out?
Would be nice to turn up with my van painted like a P40, shark's mouth and all, but y'know...

Haha unlike some shows we could mention, Wanaka and Omaka have gate sales :D so no worries regards possible sell out!

I'm FINALLY organising everything for me to go, accomodation's been sussed for months but only just organising flights and admission.
