I think I'm right in saying you don't install SP2 AND Acceleration. It's either SP! AND SP2 or SP1 AND acceleration.

Regards Jim.

You can install it as many times as you like on TWO computers (hard drives)
QUOTE
microsoft
Q4: How many times can I activate the product?

A4: There is no limit to the number of times that you can activate the software product on the same computer. For example, you can remove and re-install or re-activate the product any number of times. An additional activation is provided so that you can remove and re-install the product on the same computer or on a different computer. See the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) for more information. The EULA is located in the following folder:
Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
To run Flight Simulator X on two or more computers, purchase additional copies of the product. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/flightsi...torx.aspx#buyit (http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/fligh ... aspx#buyit)[/quote]

No, this is incorrect... you can only have it on 1 PC at a time...

You get an additional activation so you can remove it from you current PC and then reinstall on another PC.

I did not say it was not possible to do so... You are just not allowed to do so...

You may want to edit/remove your post... lest Microsoft hunt you down ;)

I don't see why they would hunt me down for a "flaw" in thier product. anyway one of the hard drives failed and can't be accessed so maybe that would have something to do with it, but i doubt it

They would come after you for much the same reason that they would if you installed any program on multiple computers at the same time without the proper licenses... Just because you can do it, does not mean you are allowed to. It is against the licensing agreement(s) and technically illegal...

<bad car analogy>
That's like saying that I can drive my car at 150km/h in a 50 zone... why should the cops come after me for a 'flaw' in the cars design?
</bad car analogy>

Having said that, if the other harddrive has failed, then that would effectively be 'removing' it... as you can no longer use that copy. However, if you were actually trying to use it on both computers at the same time, then you might find that:

a. You could not play multiplayer online (I think you get CDKey in use errors)
b. You open yourself up to a lawsuit

Chances are MS arent really going to care much about joe blow in NZ who has installed a 2nd copy so his brother can play... but stranger things have been known to happen... just look at all those stories of the RIAA suing 7 year old girls and 80 year old grannies for copyright infringement! :o

At the moment i have fsx (not deluxe) and have no acceleration. So should i install sp1 and/or sp2? Now i have found sp2a as found here http://www.leveldsim.com/sevensix_downloads.asp

Any suggestions anyone. The reason that i ask this is that i had some problems once i had installed sp2. has anyone else had any problems with sp1 and sp2 installed.

Those service packs are for the LevelD 767... they are not for FSX itself.

Also, as far as FSX is concerned, I think you may need to have SP1 installed to install SP2... (but that might only be for the SDKs)...
