Well I was kinda hoping for a better response to this thread, given the forum is flight simulation...
But yippee, 18 months on, the topic sees new light of day!
Fantastic Ian, you could sell the MOT replica photos, completely despeckled and crisp, guaranteed to last 80 years!
And later on, in full colour too!

Sheesh guys, even by your standards...

Jokes aside, step outside the hobby for a moment and think how difficult it might be to create that lower shot without flight sim software - just brilliant!

Yeah, I noticed the spots continued onto the white border outside of the photograph after I posted that question- still a great shot though!

I'm looking forward to a decent REAL NZ Auckland International scenery being released so I can start recreating some of the photos I've taken while spotting there.

How about removing "The only rule should be that the photo is your own" and then we may get some more pics?

I currently don't have a vid card of any real power (my 6600GT blew up) so I won't be simming for a wee while longer (arrghhh it's been long enough now as it is!)

OK I have edited the opening post to read:

EDIT December 2007: 18 months on, we only have a handful of repsonses, folk are camera-shy it seems.
So as suggested by thousands of earnest would-be contributors, the rules will be relaxed to allow ANY real world photo.
The pair should still be posted one-on-one, so we can see: How Good is Your Simulator?

Let's see what ya got...

Well know I'm nothing on the others in here, but for me, flight sim is a great way to revisit places I have been, or wish I could be!
This is Parowan, in Utah, USA (dive for an atlas). Real photo by me, and the same in FSX. And it just goes to show how real the world is out there in the sim!

A superb way to showcase FSX , so that puts you up a peg , to take the photo , recall , place ... and get it so perfect  That shot puts you above me . I've never been to the US yet ! :o
Flight sim is one heck of a teachers weapon if they chose to use it .... It would keep the kids in school :D

ripper choice Matey

Thanks Ian! You'll love the USA if you manage to get there one day, it's quite a different place, but amazing.
Good point about the teaching aid! I've sure learnt a great deal about the world's geography since I started simming :D

A couple more of mine from USA if you are interested: http://www.alistercurnow.com/photography/
