Looks absolutley fantastic! Certainly a lot of work has gone into this, the panel is brilliant. Just looking at all those screenshots was bringing back a lot of memories from C150 days.

i reckon !,..granted its a nice little cessna,...but Deanes fletcher is way better,..way more fun,....and a hell of alot more interesting than yet another bloody cessna,...one of the worlds most prolific, and boring aircraft ever produced....,each to their own i suppose...

ooohh,..im gonna get stick for that one !!.

More people will have learned on a C150 or C152, so it will have more "fond" memories than, say, the Fletcher... B-)

ahhh I can't download it! - it keeps stopping :( Does it not accept a download manager or is there a problem at the site? Does anybody know where else I can down load it?

It downloaded fine for me, but was very slow. Perhaps you need to wait until there is less load on their server?

Downloaded it today and I'm very impressed- the shuddering in the VC at low RPMs is fantastic! I like it much better than my Just Flight payware 152!

By the way, does any one else experience a continued left hand banking motion in this aircraft? In 0kias wind with 100% fuel, the aircraft seems to lurch to the left as I accelerate downt he runway, and once in level flight, is always banking to the left unless I correct it. Is there a heading hold altitude autopilot system that could perhaps correct this?

Edit- here are some screenie taken overhead La Reunion Island:

It looks very cool indeed. Try rudder trim Trolly (if 152s have it - I'm not familiar with the type)

The lurching on the runway is very normal in all light aircraft. Its due to the slipstream of the prop hitting the left side of the horizontal stabilizer and causing a yaw to the left...There are other factors such as assymetric thrust and engine torque which all add to it, but you'll understand when you do PPL Principles of Flight :)

As for in the air it could be a number of the reasons above, but it shouldnt be as apparent with cruise power. If you were gunning along at full power, then see above :P

I'm going to assume you mean the vertical stabilizer? :)

This picture gives an example of the slipstream from the prop hitting the fin:

As for it always leaning to the left... maybe they have set it up so the weight of the pilot (and possibly uneven fuel loads) may be causing the aircraft to turn...

4starters the fu24 by deane B that also works in fsx and made by a NZer and ofcourse many many more out there ...
yes nice plane but really the best? >nzflag<

Have you downloaded and flown it? If the answer is no, you can't really say anything about whether or not it is the best freeware a/c available. I know it's boring, but i think Hinch meant in terms of quality etc..

the little cessna flys nice ,looks nice and is a very nice little aircraft,..no arguement there,...but in terms of the "best freeware",..well that will always be someones opinion.. ,in my opinion "some of the best freeware aircraft available are Rick Pipers superb models including the HS-748 and Andover,..as well as his awesome Argosy.,..as well as David Maltbys amazing models including his extremely detailed BAC 1-11 models with fully functioning VC's..,but that is only my opinion.

David Maltbys site : http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/screenshot_gallery.php

Rick Pipers site : http://www.btinternet.com/~rick.piper/

However,I am not sure about their use in FS X,....I cant imagine there being any problems with them at all.

Thanks for the reply Keagan, but it still seems to bank left during straight and level flight, even on lower powersettings. I have checked my rudder, fuel and payload balance and weather settings, which all are set for normal straight flight conditions, however I still get this affect- any ideas?

You could possibly try re-calibrating your joystick/yoke,...i had a similar problem a while back and that was the problem,..it worked fine for multi engined aircraft,..but when using smaller aircraft like the mustang,spitfire,..cessna etc.. the stick was just a smidgeon off causeing a slight yaw..,...just a thought..

Yep its a CAA subject. Ie ASL do it as well, not just a Massey thing :)

We have Six papers a semester, Four of which consist of CAA syllabus's (syllabi?) and the other two are university degree content. The other two this semester were Aeroscience (which is aeronautical maths and physics which are a pre-runner to Aerodynamics) and Aviation Studies (to give those who dont know much a greater understanding of the wider aviation industry).

Keagan, I think the confusion may have been caused by your reference to PPL principles of flight - Principles of flight is a CPL subject. Look here and at the CAA AC 61-1. :)
