Its due to the slipstream of the prop hitting the left side of the horizontal stabilizer and causing a yaw to the left...

As for in the air it could be a number of the reasons above, but it shouldnt be as apparent with cruise power. If you were gunning along at full power, then see above

I was unaware there was such a subject....? Outta interest, Is that a massey thing..? I know that you guys do different exams so what other subjects do ya do, if any ?
