Hi,
My name is Peter and have joined up only a few days ago.
Started simming in earnest in the FS98 era. Age a young 72 and mad about aviation, did my national training in the Royal Dutch Air Force in Radar Tracking.
The reason I joined is that this forum is not only helpfull but very friendly as well.

Hi everyone,
I'm Roger Douglas, and before any of you smarties ask, I'm definitely NOT a former Minister of Finance! Born and bred in Auckland some 67 years ago, and have been interested in aircraft all of my life. Many happy hours as a teenager building and flying control line models, the greatest being my beloved Fairey Gannet. Had a go at the Auckland Star flying scholarship way back in the mid 1960's, my very first time in an aircraft. I was on a high for days afterwards. Flew and crash landed Air NZ DC8 simulator, and did a fairly creditable flight on their 747 400 simulator a few years ago. Have been flight simming on and off for about 8 or 9 years, but only recently got some decent scenery for FS9 after i discovered this forum. Congratulations guys, I love it.

Hi I'm Richard. I am a retired banker living in Bucklands Beach, Auckland.
While on transfer to Tauranga in the 1970s I joined the Tauranga Aero club. I was a member for 6 years obtaining my PPL and ratings in 5 of the Cub's aircraft. Did about 300 hours including some aerobatics.
Flying and providing for a young family became a bit of a conflict and I guess the family won out.
I was talking some years ago to an Air New Zealand Boeing 747 pilot about flying and how cost was the main barrier in renewing my license. He said "get yourself a simulator and fly for nothing". "We all do!"
Since then I became a "Pro Pilot" then FlyII addict. and for the last 3 years I have been using FS9. I use NZ topo with 20m mesh and Robin Corn's RealNZ airports.
I am always amazed as to just how real it gets.
Richard
