What FS Version

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Should not be to hard to work out :)

Many of your might want to say I have both or all off the above but simply put which one do you have now and which one do you use the most.
IF your planning to get FSX thats fine , you have not got it yet so which one are you using.
Questions been asked before probably but things have changed and people may have changed usage so I am wondering what the Simming community trend is currently at, considering the amount of Developers who have moved to FSX or just simply quit.

I hope everyone is remembering the FS version you use as your Primary ;)

Jimmy FS98 comes under FS2000 and before :P

Even though I can build a PC to run FSX I have yet to find one that actually runs FSX maxed out like FS9 is :P At the moment I have invested to much into FS9 to even contemplate the current down grading myself to FSX.
Got FS2002 installed on a machine running a GForce 2 graphics card thats its limit though :(

FSX does not have to be "maxed out" to be better than FS9. It looks and performs great at medium settings. One of the bigger performance hogs is the autogen, but FSX can place many time more trees and houses in each scenery tile than FS9 could, so peeling the slider back is no problem

For me with FSX default looking comparable to FS9 with addons the frame rate just about halves. :(

You should have made the poll a single choice only then ;)

I am a FS9 user, my current machine doesn't run FSX that well.

Is this, by any chance, just a anti-FSX poll trying to get developers to see they should only make FS9 products? If so, as much as anyone tries I doubt it will happen because as Deane said, designers are going to produce addons for the most recent software. During the years 2005/2006 you didn't see much FS8 addons produced, for exactly the same reason as above.

Mainly FS9 here although I do sometimes use FS2002 which has the 75 mesh and Christian's land class file.FS9 has the 75 mesh with Christian's Topo.I only use FS2002 to fly the MAAM B25 and the MAAM DC3

FSX is my primary.

...but FS9 when I want to have a :plane: around Tauranga and Rotorua as I have the RealNZ scenery - just wouldn't be real without it :P

As I far as I was aware it was a single choice per user option?

No Trolly it is not an anti FSX poll as I said in the first post

Really I could go on to ask what version of Windows are you using? Which is another gauge of what the current marketing trends are.

As I far as I was aware it was a single choice per user option?

When making a new poll, under the 'Poll Settings' section you can click the drop down menu and pick from 'Single Choice (1)' to 'Multi-Choice (15)'. With single choice, you have a set of radio buttons that only allow one selection, where as in Multi-Choce you get a set of tick boxes that allow multiple selections.

No Trolly it is not an anti FSX poll as I said in the first post

Sorry, I missed that. I was not trying to put a negative spin on this thread.
