You really need the Red Baron Topo for this.

Yep, the payware Red baron entertainment topographic data set fixes all the lakes and coast mesh problems in NZ. It's well worth is money when combined with the payware 20m mesh too :D

Gudday Owen.
Yep,........... Rob and Andrew are correct. The Red Baron NZ Topo is the only answer for this problem.
It fixes a some VERY noticible errors such as the cliffs and lake level at Queenstown , also fixes the HUGE cliff and wrong water level at Mt. Cook airport as well, and another very noticable one it fixes is the lake level at Rotorua, be it the default airport, or Robs RealNZ Rotorua.
Very WELL WORTH the few measly $$$ spent on buying it, for ALL that it does all over NZ !!

You dont need the 20m mesh to fix this problem.

Check your installation of the Lakes and Rivers fix, You may have it installed incorrectly.

Dont have to use payware to enjoy New Zealand, I was gifted a Rivers & Roads last week. Might Gift it on as it is not very good oh before anyone jumps in the air there is more than one edition of Rivers and Roads in circulation.

Nope, its the topo that does it. See above.

Check your installation of the Lakes and Rivers fix

Isn't that just for fs2002?

Andrew is correct. The NZ Lakes and Rivers fix was originally for FS2002. It made a minor improvement to Queenstown in FS2004, but still CANNOT correct all the wrong levels etc that the NZ Topo does.
Yes, you dont need 20m mesh to correct this problem. The NZ Topo works fine in the 75m freeware mesh, or with no mesh, but once you have 20m mesh, the difference that it makes to the look of NZ is AMAZING !! Once again, for the few measly $$$ that you would pay for it, WELL worth it !!

Yeah unfortunatly the Misses now has a 4th horse which arrived yesterday (Mutters something admins would ban me for) so buying the mesh aint an option just yet. Odd thing is tho this is only a recent issue, 2 weeks ago, that problem wasnt there and the only thing thats been installed since was F1 ground environment pro (Which was basically a reinstall anyways)

After uninstalling F1 GEP problem was still there so yeah....

Hi Owen

Let's backtrack a bit.

Do you have the NZ topo / Roads & Rivers?

Do you have my old 'lake fix'?

Tell your Misses to put the horses onto a diet  ;)

Cheers,
Christian

Hmmmmm,............. think the old FS2002 Lakes Fix might be your problem Owen.
If you have Christian's Red Baron NZ Topo/Roads & Rivers installed as well, it tells you in the instructions under the heading "Pre-Installation" to
[ REMOVE all previously installed add-on New Zealand sceneries that modify water bodies or roads, as these may conflict with this scenery, and potentially cause inferior quality ] .

Yes Owen. As Lawrie wrote, get rid of the old lake fix and the water levels will be back to normal.

Errr found the problem, in my mass reinstall on new pc following old pc catching fire (Dont ask...) It seems the problem was that Your lakes and rivers fix wasn't installed. Have installed that now and its fixed up my queenstown tsunami.

Sorry about that. Must have totally overlooked it, but then installing over 50Gb of scenery and another 40 of aircraft and AI.... I feel like a complete goof right about now :whoops:

Thanks to all those that replied

Christen,

I'm having the same problem as Lawrie at Queenstown, refered to in this topic.

I have the Red Baron Topo and 20m Mesh, and Peter Lohr's Queenstown scenery.

I have removed the NZ Lakes Fix (2002).

Snowman wrote:I just fifnished re-installing the topo, and i have 1 of each file mentioned on OCEN/SCENERY folder,  eg: 1x HL992470.bgl and 1x HL992470.bglx  .  Should there be both entries in there, 1 in .bgl and the other .bglx at the same time ??
All the files mentioned on your page have duplicate entries, 1x .bgl, and 1x .bglx

Lawrie.
Quoted from this topic

Does anybody have a full list of the files that need to be renamed/disabled in the FS9/scenery/OCEN/scenery folder?

Thanks in advance :)

Matthew
