Yeah, Thats the one. (sorry about the request, I couldn't remember the name of the website).
If you could post some screenies, that would be great.
Also is the scenery much better that all the other sceneries by Robin corn etc?
And how do you get it in just one download without having to download the satellite mapping stuff aswell?

I havnt found it to be too bad on fps... Its great if your not looking in tje direction of NZCH.

But thats the same with Ian's NZCH, whenever I turn my head in the airport direction from anywere over canterbury I will have my fps cut into a 3rd!

I suppose it helps with navigation "errr in what direction is the airport" "hold on ill just pan my head in a full 360degree nd wait for the stutters" lol

Iv just been for a short flight over Christchurch in the defuatl baron, heres what I snaped during the flight:

I don't have time to write a full review or anything sorry but these should give you a good idea :P

The airport carpark area is done with amzingly high resolution photos, I love it!

Looking over the city sure looks more realistic than the abundance of green textures.

Ian warren's NZWG fits in butifuly.

Hagly park and the CBD, Hagly park is the point were you would turn finals for rwy29 visual approach, it is rather neat to be able to follow the real chart's landmarks.

Port hills, getting some buleries down there, not too bad thow.

Over in littleton harbour facing east we see the great looking hills.

Approaching the aircraft carrier for a touch and go, sadly thow Im getting half the fps I would facing the other directrion cos the airport is write infront of me, even thow its soo far away it has a maasive effect.

Back on the ground at NZCH, the terminal looks very real :P

The aero club is up to date and well modeled.

I think this shows the whole coverd area....

So I think this is a great scenery, of course more suited for you VFR pilots, But climb out in a 767 still looks awsome, and as long as you reload the scenery on approach it will look great in your 744 too :D But I am thinking of putting the the RBE mesh and landclass with a higher priorty as the photoreal and just keep th airport as I am getting bit sick of bluries.....

So if you do alot (or even a tiny tiny bit like me) of vfr then I recomend this scenery, Just gota get rid of those bluries!

Oh one last thing; I'd say you need at least 512mb of RAM to use this scenery,I used this same scenery on my 1ghz and 256mb RAM system (and with only 1gb free on the h/drive) and it ran fine as long as I had no 3d objects on. If There were 3d objects it coulld take up to 30mins for them to load on that system (seriosly im no exgeratating!) So yes make sure you got plenty of RAM!!

Hope this helps ya

Man that CH scenery looks heaps better than the old Godzone stuff I have installed.

Does the NZ Scenery stuff cover Banks Peninsular in photoreal? The godzone one does, but it is all out of line with the new mesh and has a 'colourized black and white photo' look too it.

As for the airport, I am using the default FS2004 at the moment. Isn't the NZ scenery NZCH buildings 1.5x the real life size or something?

Yeah it covers the whole of bankpeninsuler, whats the godzone christchurch? Is it payware, I cant find any thing like it on the godzone shop...

As for the airport buildings i don't know about there size but they seem correct lol I hope they are.

Why are you only useing defualt! Fps reasons? your sim looks like it could handle it.........

yeah it is really cool that scenery it even has the cathedral in the square on it but there are just a couple of disapointments with this scenery like the taxiway signs aren't there like echo 13 and 14 and stuff and the garden city helicopters building is only from a birds eye view it ain't a 3d building it would be good if it was cause then you could land the bk117 there or the squrriel or robinson but everything else is really cool and james with your screenshots you just posted i will just point out that the wigram scenery isn't part off it that is designed by ian warren to go with this christchurch scenery (NZWG05)

Howdy,

There are things I really like about the NZ Secenery Design Group's Christchurch ... and there are things I really do not like.

For starters, the landscape is just too sear. The CBD is very coarsely modelled (for example, the Chalice in the Square is an inverted grey metal cone unlike Robin's photoreal model). The autogen trees lack variation, and the heavy use of blue to colour shadowed areas really just does not float my boat.

But my biggest bugbear has to be the toneal drops between particular tile areas. I suppose this is the trouble when several author's work on the same project.

That being said, the water masking and braided rivers are brilliant, as is the airport.

Anyway, that's my tu'penneth worth.
Regards,
Dorian

Is the NZCH airport scenery made quite closley to the actual NZCH (in other word, does it look like NZCH does today)
And can you get just the airport and not the photoreal (as it's quite a big file.)

yeah you can just download the airport and not the whole scenery package and at the moment i am going for my pprivate pilots license at the canterbury aero club and when i go up this scenery does look very alike to what christchurch looks like today except at the airport now there is a 4 story car park building there now and also with this scenery it does'nt show the sand hill on new brighton beach and at lyttelton it does'nt show the wharfs and the west melton aera needs redoing to show the buildings there and the sealed runway because at the moment on the west melton scenery it only has the grass runways but overall not a bad job on the scenery i think it is the best christchurch scenery out

For my 2 cents worth, i would definately have to say that the NZ Scenery Design group's Christchurch 2006 is the BEST NZCH scenery out there !
Some screenies from NZCH (check out links below). Not the most startling of screenies, but just from tiki-touring around with the testing of the NZ RETRO-AI project. One day i might actually have the time to set up a decent flight , and get some really good screenies.......................
