NZTG AI landing

Today I was flying NZAA to NZTG, in my PMDG 1900d, a nice short hop that usually takes about 30 minutes. I took off at about 6am, and was directed to climb to 18000 feet and fly to the 'Mayor' VOR. By the time I was over Thames, I had reached my crusing altitude, and after about 8 minutes, I was ordered to descend down to 5000 feet again (not sure if this is realistic or not). NZ centre asked alrerted me to traffic at my 5 o'clock, and sure enough, there was another ANZ 1900d flying parallel with me, which I had seen taxing at Auckland as I departed. I continued flying, and was vectored way out to sea, before being instructed to turn to 255 and tune into Tauranga tower for a visual appoach to runway 25. After about 35 minutes flight time, I was cleared for landing on runway 25, but just as I was about to touch down, I was ordered to go-around as the AI 1900d was sitting right in the middle of the runway, waiting to cross 25L grass, as one of the Bayflight Family 152's was making a landing :angry: .

I had to report a missed appoach, climb up to 2900 feet and fly all the way down towards Whakatane, before being instructed to turn back towards TG. It was after about 50 minutes of flightime that I finally made my full stop landing, which went very smoothly, but when I taxied up to the terminal, the other AI 1900d was no where to be in sight, after landing only 15 minutes ago! Anyone know where it could have gone?

I was using the REAL NZ Tauranga scenery with VOZ AI installed, and although the AI was annoying, it made my flight much more realistic!

You may as well not even use the FS9 ATC... I find it to be more realistic (and challenging) to just fly my route, set myself up for the approach and land.

Does your atc give instructions to fly to a certian fix?!?!

I also find the go arounds a very very painfull experaince, I thort I had been forgotten once!

With the disaperaing aircraft: thats proably cos there wasnt a parking space avalible for its type or something, if theres no were for them to park they just disapear lol

The solution to this problem can be accomplished in a swift movment of the hand! (meaning >options>display>traffic :D )

I too have had bad experiences with FS9 ATC, namely not letting me fly my flight plan, and 50nm out of my destination giving me vectors that make me do large zig-zags. :angry:

Try AI Smooth, available here. There is another programme available, AI Seperator, which works just as well.

no better in FSX- the other day i was flying NZWN-NZCH, ATC vectored me out half way to easter island (and kept protesting every time i tried to go on course) before i decided to ignore them and turn towards christchurch
and the next day i tried to fly YBCG-YSSN and the atc vectored me half way to tasmania to line up with the ILS.

AI Smooth is definately the way to go to help with the go arounds, but yes, ATC in 9 sucks somewhat, but you can choose various approach options, many of them wont vector you halfway around the world first
