Virtual Air New Zealand

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Mike M » Tue Oct 31, 2006 3:35 pm

I'm more willing to see the old VANZ stay a float, rather than a new one going ahead. :D

I think we just need some motivation

totally amazing how true to life flight simming can get!

faction fighting, splinter groups, companies within companies
- is this the virtual ANZ or the real life? can't tell the difference now! <_<

just hope its NOT like real life else its the virtual pilots that are going to get virtually screwed again!

Looks like Towerguy was right :(

Ah well, this isn't going anywhere now. Not that anyone has to listen, I suggest the best way forward would be for the active participants in this thread to use the PM feature of this forum, or have a multi-way msn conversation.

In the meantime I think I will fly a trip in NZ on Vatsim and log it with Vanz and VPA

Well, as far as i'm concerned if you don't want me to launch it, I won't because it is completed and on the web.. it sounds lyk from the comments tht it shouldn't be launched, so if you don't want me to launch it, I WON'T!

I think it would be better for you to get together with the current VANZ team and try and get it going.

I know where Mikes comments are comming from I remember him mentioning some years ago on the old Maxflight(blast from the past) forums and my own forum that he has been trying to join VANZ and cant get hold of anyone. I tell you he aint negative coz he never gave up in 2 years or so

I know I tried at one stage to join VANZ and also never got a response so it is not really surprising that there is no motivation around the place.

I dont care about the ego stuff I have enough of my own trying to run a fs design group, but what I do care about is having a Virtual National Airline to be patriotic about and a professionally run one at that, kind of like the BAV of the southern skies.

I have toyed with trying to start a Virtual NAC but have pretty much got my plate full.

Now that Owen has left Virtual Air New Zealand I think that in order for it to not die a quiet death a new CEO needs to be appointed and the website needs a major overhaul I am willing to take over from Owen because it will be a sad day when that site closes, If I can have some backing, I think we may be able to save this site from closing.

Apparently a new site is already in the works. The gap left behind by Owen, and how to fill it has been discussed on the vANZ forums. ;)
