Display Team Formation Flying

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Guys, I make no apologies for a massive post this time. I really, really do think, this is worth showing in one post. This really must be the ultimate capability for FS9 - fly all the planes yourself, record each flight separately and then play back together. This addon is simply AMAZING

If it is too much, Admins, then I humbly apologise.

And I know it's not NZ - sorry here too. But believe me - the making of this flight and the screenshots was the most fun I could possibly image. If you ask, I can send you a copy of all five recordings to be played back together.

Air Day at Emma Field!

The world famous "One-Eye" leads his newly formed team for a practice run for the Emma Field Farewell Fly in (coming soon to a multiplayer server near you!)

One-Eye takes the Ace (of course) whilst his trusty companion takes the ten. Who's in the other planes? King Gary? Perhaps... Queen SkinnyPuppy? Sounds like a good bet? The knave? That has just got to be Fritz's ride!

I swear by my next chores, that these images are in no way retouched. All live action screen shots from a single flight. All planes individually piloted (by me really).

The planes and pilots are lined up, ready to go...

user posted image

Here they are, taxying to the start point.

user posted image

Nope! They are not using 36. That would be a bit too crowded today. We're using the wide glider strip.

user posted image

Ready.....

user posted image

GOOOOOOO!!!

user posted image

Steady lads, easy as she goes - first corner coming up. Keep it together!

user posted image

Uncle Elmer is in the tower, watching carefully - there's a barrel of "Number 5 special reserve" resting on the success of this mission.

user posted image

Downwind and Queenie is losing it a bit (sliding off just a bit to the left here)

user posted image

Let's have a bit of smoke, please Limp!

user posted image

First pass at a safe height - Hey, Queenie! Pull your socks up!

user posted image

Second turn out off the "18" end of Emma

user posted image

At the end of the second downwind, here's a line astern turn in to the display line.

user posted image

Your spreading out a bit folks, pull it together, will you!

user posted image

A close up study of Limp, limping along behind.

user posted image

Here goes the finale - Old One-eye leads us in....

user posted image

One after another, we make "Hammerfall"

user posted image

This really was the highlight - five subsequent hammers, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.... DUCK!!

user posted image

Elmer gets a shot in from ground level.

user posted image

The chase plane crew had their work cut out to get these shots in!

user posted image

It's raining Eagles!!!!

user posted image

The crowd roars!

user posted image

And once more, our gallant Limp, brings up the rear... (er  )

user posted image

Once we left "Hammerfall, it was back along 18 and "Explode" in an individual expression of glee - each pilot his own expression!

user posted image

Uncle elmer, busy with his camera still, caught this view of the "Explosion"

user posted image

Everyone break away and land in order - go!

user posted image

Long zoom shot (hence the loss of colour) as the flock lands.

user posted image

Right men, deep breath, let's get all together one more time! Queenieee! Where are you going?

user posted image

There they go - sweet as silk! Butter wouldn't melt...

user posted image

Cross the strip one last time and...

user posted image

This is it! Line up in an orderly manner.

user posted image

One Royal Flush takes a bow!

user posted image

Ace, King, Queen Jack, Ten - they're all back, and none the worse for the odd bumpy landing and near miss in the air.

user posted image

Elmer takes a last shot.

user posted image

...and the storks, impassive as ever, wonder what all the fuss was about.

user posted image

Thanks to Matthias Neusinger for making the BEST addon yet for FS9. Version 1.3 Beta is a must folks - try it yourself - in theory, you get a complete Red Arrows flight going - each plane recorded separately, so you can fly five and more DIFFERENT planes in one go.

I am gobsmacked by this addon. Stunned. Amazed. It is soooo much fun to use.

Enjoy the screenies - I am thinking how can I choreograph a dogfight between My "Adolf Galland" skin and the "Douglas Bader" one.

If you have the recorder module V. 1.3 Beta, the files are now on Avsim: "royal_flush_pack.zip" - just give them a while to release the upload.

Lovely Chris, and your excitement is infectious.
When can we expect the movie? :D
Better be soon, otherwise I'll beat you to it!
(See my first crack at flightsim.com file wan_sia.zip back in June before we could do multiple aircraft).
And Wanaka is the only place we allow for posting aerobatics on this forum, right?
Well OK, Marlborough too at a pinch. B)

It's lousy flying, but I dropped all five recordings off at Avsim yesterday - in the FS2004 miscellaneous section - help yourselves.

Pick a card, any card, set yourself up in that plane and open the other four in "replay as traffic" - you are in the flush! Go fly better than me...

The paints are on Avsim in one download too - five for the price of one  So's the Eagle.

Yes indeed - Simflight is my main "home" (Sorry guys :D ) and if you want to see the team at Oshkosh, go here And if you want to see all five at Oshkosh, go here: Simflight screenshots forum

Once I have re-flown a couple of the positions, I'll upload them to avsim so that you can try this flight as well.

By the way folks, I won't do a "movie" - just download the flight recordings and play them back (as long as you have the Eagle and the paints loaded) and you can fly "interactively" - take a tower view, sit inside any of the planes or take a spot plane view. Much more fun than just a movie...

Of course, you'll need the recorder software, but everything is freeware.

Just don't expect to get the red white and blue smoke - that#s a trade seret... :P

No worries mate, I think we can do without the smoke. Have fun, always!!

Oh, you'll get smoke all right... just most likely white only.

Another fun thing to do is to load up a. n. other plane and fly around the display as "Cam-plane".
