First time I've fired up the sim for a real play, in weeks. I installed VOZ AI and had a look at Rotorua.
OK it ate my default Baron and did a couple of other things, but this is GREAT!
It is the perfect compliment to GNZLAP.
There was a real feeling of buzz around this airport, over at Skydive there's an Aztec, off screen left a couple of Cessna's parked up, and a Skyhawk doing TNG's on the grass.
I hope those guys can get this sorted, this is brilliant, NZ is headed for the best simming exprience in the world.

Yeah, this was under-hyped. With a bit of tidying up I've replaced my Ultimate Traffic finally, it was good but no updates on NZ flightplans since I bought it.
All I use now is VOZ and GNZLAP. On average I get around 25 AI parked up when I start at Wellington.
I was thinking though that this might not be re-released. The VOZ guys just might consider it too much of a hassle. That'd be a real shame.

No kidding. Let's give Mal and co. a few more weeks and then maybe look at a NZ pack for starters.

Yep VOZ does all the heavy metal, and they use pretty good models too.
The scenery...RealNZ Rotorua, in my opinion (and I know the author does differ) the best airport package available for NZ.

If VOZ decides the AI is too hard, we'll survive. After all it's based on a compilation of existing packages - and I guess some may be old schedules by now. The RAAF AI pack (available AUSSIM) is prominent, but most of the stuff you're seeing on screen for the big airlines you can easily collect in 20 mins of surfing per airline and probably install in half an hour (per airline - not the lot!).
I looked at the VOZ AI pack and yes, it's a great running start for a brand new FS install (despite loss of the Beech!) but all I got from it personally was one base model I hadn't found elsewhere, simply because I had already covered pretty much the same ground, but with more recently updated flightplans.
I can't reccommend highly enough just dumping the default FS9 traffic BGL and starting from scratch. It's surprising how fast you get your airports populated. I also prefer to pick one base model per type now, be it PAI or AIA (still around!) or whatever. Just begin with the local domestics - Air NZ, Qantas, Freedom, Virgin Blue, PacBlue etc. and move outwards to other airlines which visit. And grab the good GA packs... :)
