Sorry for taking so long to start posting pics of one of my flights, so I decided to stop gazing in awe at what you guys have done and get out there and do it myself!

I don't know if any of you folk remember, but the Alpine Fighter Collection at Wanaka once had a Nakajima Ki-43 "Hayabusa"(Peregrine Falcon)/"Oscar". Sir Tim wanted it kept as original as possible, so they just made it taxiable, rather than compromising the original structure.

It was sold to the States a while back, so I thought it was time an Oscar was seen in NZ again. To reach this end I imported one of the new-build Texas Aircraft Factory Hayabusas, which arrived at Port Nelson last week. After a thorough inspection and the filling of various other paperwork, she was ready to go.

These pics are the result of ZK-OSC's second NZ flight (the first being the short ferry from Nelson to Omaka).

Cameraship was the Omaka-based Harvard ZK-ENI, pictured below.

Oscar originally CFS2, converted by Bob Chicilo; Harvard by Denis da Silva. Scenery by Deane Baunton.

) but oh well, at least it had its little moment back in the air. Maybe someone would like to repaint "my" Oscar as the old AFC one......?
