How real is it?

Well, im just wondering how real the aircraft and runway lengths are.
The reason why- i easily managed to land a 747 with over half the runway left, at nzhn which i know is definately not realistic

Depends on the aircraft, and how much it weighs when landing, also winds, rwy condition and numerous other factors.

With flaps 25, and maximum landing weight on a dry runway,a Boeing 747-300 requires about 7000ft. Taken from www.boeing.com > Products > 747 > Detailed Technical Specs > Airplane Performance .

hmmm i was in a empty 747 going 175kias when i landed and the runway is 1985m long

i am reminded of the south african airlines 747-200 which landed in just 2800 feet. it was empty, but only used medium auto brakes... i've landed the 737 on the aircraft carrier before, so anything's possible.

from what i hear from heavy metal pilots is that brake pads are very expensive, so they don't use them the whole way on landing, and in fact only use them sparingly unless they need to stop quickly

Yea, remember FS is not as 'Real as it gets' . Would you attempt to land a 37 on a aircraft carrier in real life?

1985m is about 6500ft, so its definately possible, at least theoretically.
