Help wanted- assist with bindings MSFS 2020

Postby Sonnyj » Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:57 am

Morning all, Whew, after moving to Lawrence Otago I have finally assembled the hardware part of my Rig- upgraded from FSX. Been a mission, LOL.
Anyways, before I embark on attempting to work out how Microsoft apply their 2020 software....I am wondering if there is anybody near by that would be able and willing to assist in the assembly of the bindings etc to get this thing flying. Of course there will be a free lunch and a beer (or two). Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Sonnyj.

Thanks Charl,

it looks like rocket science to me , Ha Ha.

But if no offers come forth I will make some attempts. Cheers

My problem was that I didn't know what MS called the various things. which is more than half the battle.
Abovementioned post uses MS terminology in the graphic, which you can search for in the sim <Controls> section, and assign to whatever you choose.
Just try one thing, like BRAKE or whatever, and you'll see it's not rocket science, just Work.

EDIT: I updated the sticky post with a short example.

Thanks for that Charl,

I had a go at this stuff a couple of years ago before this last rebuild. I ended up with SPAD,MSFS,FSUIPC,all in a big conglomeration, many bits of software and updates etc etc to start in specific order. It 'sort of worked'. Most of the home cockpit switches and rotary stuff working to a degree. This time I want to try and do it all with MSFS to keep it simple. I hope it is possible.

Now I can see where you are coming from.
Still, if MSFS recognises a controller, you should be able to assign things to it.
If not, you may find it is too smart for its own good :)
