Repaint for Big Radial Lockheed Jeststar "Elvis" ?

Postby hasegawa » Sun Jul 06, 2025 10:25 pm

July 8 is the day Elvis Presley made his first radio appearance...
Elvis Presley's first radio appearance was on July 8, 1954, when DJ Dewey Phillips from Radio WHBQ in Memphis played the song “That's All Right” on the radio for the first time. This performance is considered to be the beginning of his radio career, although he had already made recordings at Sun Studio.
To mark the occasion, I would like to recreate a flight from Memphis to Van Nuys, the aviation gateway to Hollywood.... Elvis owned 2Lockheed Jwetfstfar afteresina<nder of these machines one after the other, one is in Graceland with the registration N777EP, the 2nd became a caravan and had the registration N20TF, it has a striking orange-red paint on the fuselage. It was in Roswell and is totally rotten. I would like to fly it

I am looking for a suitable repaint for the Lockheed Jetfsatar from Big Radial, whereby I am more interested in the 2nd Machine than the one that can be found in the Musesum in Greaceland.

Who can help?

Hi deaneb,

I get the humorous tone with the “driving RV” comment – it’s definitely a funny one!

But to me, the fate of the JetStar also highlights something very important: the value of preserving these historic aircraft, at least virtually.

Many of these planes are lost forever in real life, due to wear, missing parts, or conversions like this one.

A little fun fact: Frank Sinatra and Richard Nixon also flew these jets – but honestly, I’m not really interested in the ones they used. Grins.

That’s why I think it’s great we can still fly them in MSFS, keeping alive the memory of the technology and history that would otherwise fade away.

I hope this JetStar “driving RV” gets a second chance in virtual aviation – even if it’s on the road now, it lives on in our flights!

Best regards,
Andreas

Was not meant to be humorous, just pointing out is no longer rotting.

Just to clarify – my comment wasn’t meant as a joke or correction. I just found it interesting that the second JetStar is still around, even if it’s been converted. I’m honestly just fascinated by the plane and its history.
